I have 4 kids in this school district across various grades and realistically have no complaints. When my kids needed special accommodations and services they provided them and did a great job assessing and communicating along the way. Maybe I'm low maintenance.

Our experience at MOHS has been a mix of positives and challenges. One of the biggest concerns has been the lack of proper response to bullying incidents. Issues were raised but not adequately addressed, leaving students feeling unsupported. Additionally, some teachers view students with 504 plans or IEPs as "too needy" and have even said this directly to them, which is discouraging and inappropriate to talk to special needs kids like that.There are also teachers who have a very strict approach, teaching as if they were in a college lecture rather than a high school classroom, which can make learning difficult for some students. However, on the positive side, there are also some truly dedicated and supportive teachers who make a difference in students' lives. The school counselors have been helpful and supportive, which is one of the few bright spots in our experience.Overall, while the environment hasn’t always been ideal, my child was able to find the right teachers and resources to navigate through the challenges and make the most of their time here. I hope the school takes steps to improve its inclusivity and support for all students.

After a year-and-a-half of home-schooling, in a hotel room, our son took to kindergarten like a bee to nectar, hah; the school is sunny, clean, safe, and well-organized; his teacher is a bright, happy, healthy, knowledgeable woman who manages to balance all of the rigorous requirements of a grade school teacher with a true love for children and for teaching and learning; our son is happy, loves school and is learning voraciously, "he's a sponge," to quote his teacher at our last parent-teacher meeting. Truly, what more could one ask? Well . . . heh, the mores are a little parochial, as Niche puts it: "Budd Lake [] residents tend to lean conservative," which cramps multi-cultural, global citizens, and, ah, the lunch menu reads like a bar menu, but hey, they probably wouldn't move too many frog's legs, chicken feet, or pigs' skin jellies even if they tried. Perhaps because of the pandemic, and recent upsurge of school attacks, the school seems a little hermetically sealed to outside influence, and a pretzel sale and Halloween parade don't really open the place up to outside-parental input, but most conservative-leaning parents probably like it that way and that, my dears is called democracy.
