8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give this school 2 stars. While there are some good teachers and opportunities, the administration is extremely strict and students are given very little freedom compared to other schools. Students are not allowed to leave campus during lunch, even upperclassmen, which makes the school environment feel very controlling. The school also takes away a lot of traditions and activities that students should be able to enjoy. There is no junior prom at all, unlike other schools in the district, and outsiders are not allowed at events like homecoming. Seniors are not allowed to decorate their senior parking spots, and even simple traditions like turning the lights off during homecoming are banned. It feels like every year there are more unnecessary rules added. One of the biggest problems is the bathroom situation. Almost all of the bathrooms in the school are locked, and students are forced to use only two bathrooms in the entire building. On top of that, only three students are allowed in at a time, which creates huge lines and traffic jams between classes. Students end up wasting time just trying to use the bathroom.Overall, the school focuses too much on control and restrictions instead of creating a positive high school experience for students.Student Review2mo ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 34 E Catherine St.

"Nyack is a great river town, with shops, restaurants, parks and more! It’s a close drive to NYC, westchester and NJ. More importantly it’s safe, eclectic and full of charm. Great place for young professionals, families and everyone in between."

"There are a lot of other fellow dog owners in this area. Very quiet my only complaint would be that there is not a sidewalk and the roads aren’t that wide. So it could be dangerous "

"You can watch 4th of July fireworks from the park, we have a Halloween parade and we have street fairs several times a year. Lots of people come to town on the weekends to shop, eat and walk around Main Street. I’ve also seen tours that show you the outside of historic homes."

"Great village life with communities and neighborhoods throughout. Tons, tons, tons of places to walk to: restaurants, yoga, shops, therapy if you need it! Beautiful river views with well kept parks (the main park on the river includes a skate park and water section during the summer time). Pizza till 2am on the weekends, pretty sure this is the only town in all of rockland that can say that. There is a small art scene that is nice to tap into. Vegetarian and vegan restaurants in the area. "

"It’s a walking town! But still feels like city living on a smaller scale, and it is very artsy, creative and friendly. There’s always something fun going on. A parade, a streetfair. A movie or tv show filming. Restaurant week... dancing at one of the restaurants. People sitting outside drinking coffee. People watching. I love it..."
