Winchester is an exceptional school for children. Our kids previously attended the Poway Unified School District, one of the top districts in California, so we initially had reservations about transitioning them to Winchester. However, after my son’s first year, I was completely impressed by the school’s culture and values. Winchester prioritizes not only academic excellence but also the well-being, self-esteem, personal growth, and individual interests of every student. The staff and students foster a truly family-oriented environment, making it a welcoming and supportive community.The principal, Dr. Mazzei, is absolutely phenomenal and was recognized as Principal of the Year in her district this year—a testament to her outstanding leadership.If you’re new to the area and considering schools in Winchester, don’t hesitate! Enroll your children here—you won’t regret it!

I am a current student and this is a great school except if you have a 8th period they lock the bathrooms so goodluck trying not to pee your self and they lock the gate so you’re out of luck if there isn’t a teacher going out the same time as you and i’ve seen other students hop the gate as well to get out because they tried knocking at the door near the gate but no one was there to let us out. Tahquitz has good everything else except how they treat students after school in 8th period specifically.

This school is horrible no one in any class pays attention or does their work. The test scores are below average compared to the rest of Hemet USD. The school has a lot of fights and is slow to react. The teachers are entitled. When one person does a bad thing the whole class/school gets blamed for it. We can't have our phones out for no other reason than not to record fights because it makes the school look bad(Which is a form of oppression). I would not recommend this school.
