About this House

Often referred to as the Castle on the Corner, this exquisite property is one of Covington's finest homes. Proudly sitting on the corner of Levassor & Greenup, this late Queen Anne Victorian was built to impress. 6-bedrooms, rare curved glass, original stained glass, intricately hand-carved oak newel post & staircase, multiple pocket doors, oak wainscoting, 7 fireplaces w/ unique carved mantels.

The first owners of this magnificent Queen Anne Victorian home were Xerxes, a prominent lumber dealer, and his wife, Laura Jane Perkins Culbertson, who commissioned the house.

Today, it is one of only three homes still standing in Levassor Park from that era. The Holmes “Castle” and Phillips residences were both demolished. Only the Hall residence, next door, and the Levassor estate, several houses East, still stand.

Built in 1896, it boasts original woodwork, a grand staircase, original fireplace mantels, wood flooring, several light fixtures, and turrets with period curved stained glass.


A new walkway and driveway with monumental gates, fountains, bronzes, landscaping and interior upgrades and finishes will elevate the home to another level of beauty.

House now has all new windows, new bathrooms, new kitchen and all freshly painted in addition to stunning 19 th century period chandeliers. The interior is three floors fully redone and insulated.

A home gym, and large second sitting room on the third floor, with three large bedrooms make this a 6 bedroom masterpiece.

I work 30 mins up north in Springdale which is a 25 mile drive. In 30 mins I could probably make it down to Williamstown, KY. South of MLK Street can be a bit unsafe just fyi."
