Extraordinarily limited in terms of ability to contact, only by phone and only during office hours. School leadership, principal(s), need greater structure and guidance. Unsure of who or which parties actually make decisions that affect the whole, however experiences over multiple years have repeatedly validated impression that parent(s) either agree or are considered trouble makers and not just disregarded but gossiped about by top school administrators and staff. Leadership intolerant of different points of views, and inflexible towards working single parents. Quite frankly it is below the professional standards for educators to treat a student differently because you don't "like" the parent. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far we've had 3 teens in this school, our oldest did the International Baccalaureate full program and loved it. My soon to be grad, has been ultra involved with theater and despite being a full time Running Start student, Sumner was home base. My 3rd isn't much for the school spirit culture but has gotten the help and placements he's needed. Our youngest will start there in the fall and he's very much looking forward to it. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school performs beautifully well at everything it does! Homework isn't too stormy most of the time, the lessons are engaging and educating, character development exists and it's strong, leadership skills are taught and applied well, students with vast differences from most other kids can learn just as well as a normal kid, and bullying isn't an issue because it is taken incredibly seriously here. "We have lived in Sumner for the past two years and we absolutely love the community feel here. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. When the fires in Bonney Lake got close to our neighborhood, the first responders were kind and kept us alerted. The schools are great, the parks are clean, and the downtown area has the best little shops! "

"its right smack dab in the middle of all the highways, so be ready for noise. the trains are loud and the aroma of Tacoma is awful, bit its pretty for now, and there are still some cute shops and a small downtown area for now."

"Nothing around my neighborhood it is not near the down town area It seems as though all events are for the inner city we live on the out skirts There was a time during Christmas that our community was included which was great but now we are excluded "
