Historic buildings, a Union Pacific Railroad caboose, an operational wigwag RRXING signal, an antique wooden windmill and many others artifacts tell the tale of East meeting West. Strasburg'sComanche Crossing Museum. Historic buildings constructed from the 1880 through early 1900s, including a railroad depot, homestead house, school houses, post office, soda fountain and more.
Strasburg, population roughly 2,800, is in transition.
Once a farm town, each year it moves closer in feel and spirit to the growing communities near Denver International Airport.
Barr Lake Wildlife and Recreation
Theres something for every type of outdoors person- from the fishing enthusiast and boater to the naturalist- at Barr Lake State Park, a short drive northeast of the Denver area.
Bicyclists of all ages and abilities, nature hikers and horseback riders enjoy the level 8.8-mile multi-use trail that circles the lake, passing by several wildlife viewingand the park's wildlife refuge. More than 350 species of birds have been spotted in the park. Numerous bald eagleswinter at Barr Lake and one pair stays to nest and raise its young every year. Barr Lake's nature center has displays about the park's wildlife and you can have your questions answered by a naturalist.
Fishing enthusiasts and boatersincluding kayakers and canoeists,enjoy the lake's calm waters as powerboats are limited to electric trolling or gasoline motors 10 horsepower or less. Channel catfish, small and large-mouth bass, rainbow trout, walleye, bluegill, wiper and tiger muskie are among the species that inhabit the waters of Barr Lake.
Denver International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world.
Strasburg is located approcimatley 28 miles from Denver International Airport. Denver International Airport (DEN) has now has become one of the worlds busiest airports. In 2022, 69.3 million passengers passed through DEN, making DEN the worlds third-busiest airport.

Denver is an outdoor city with a vibrant, walkable downtown offering urban adventures for all ages.     "It's not unique anymore it's over crowded, they build too many house but don't update the roads, they keep building even though the schools are overcrowded. Everyone's taxes are jumping sky high to pay for all the city maintenance fees for the new stuff. Our older community is suffering. I grew up in Brighton, and as an adult I have married and established my life here. I feel pushed out from this new growth, it's disgusting. I wouldn't raise a child here, i wouldnt put them in the school system. "
