"Dexter is basically the safest cutest town on the planet. It’s like something out of a hallmark Christmas movie. "
  • KristenL Kreiner
"Large lots and many walking trails are very popular with dog owners. Neighbors are friendly toward dog walkers."
  • Wallylg47
"This is our summer home. We rent a small but very nice condo. Anything we want or need is convenient. We really enjoy Dexter."
  • ca03bbb0
"Lots of families, good schools, great outdoor activities and parks. Close to Ann Arbor but with a cute small town vibe. 10/10"
  • Heather H.
"Schools are terrific. Nice downtown and majority of people are very friendly. Can’t stand Ann Arbor, so while they are close, Dexter is different."
  • Regency27
"This neighborhood has a very homey feel to it most persons just passing by wave and acknowledge you as a community member the university is close by and the community parks and recreation facilities are nice and well-kept"
  • Gnewell
"Neighbors are friendly and the town is very safe and quaint. Great place to raise your kids. Schools are some of the best in washtenaw county "
  • Awd_san

"I've been living in Dexter for about 11 yrs now. I enjoy living here people are friendly, and the neighborhood is clean in quiet"
  • Cynthia
"If you have young children, Thornton Farms is nice. The homes are stacked on top of one another, so there is very little privacy."
  • TJR
"A short drive to the south side of Ann Arbor. In good weather, usually less than 20 minutes using I-94."
  • Masirgood
"I would love to see a dog park where my dog could run and play with other dogs. It is too far to drive to the dog park on Platt and Ellsworth, after I get home from work."
  • Meganmsw6
"Frequent festivals downtown.. makes for great community building! Dexter Daze, Apple Days, Holiday Hustle, and the parades!"
  • Daniellenicolettepoisson
"It’s small town charm, we have a bunch of great local businesses and a community of friendly people. "
  • Doug J.
"I raised my family of 4 here. Exc. schools. Very close and easy access to Huron River, Hudson Mills Metropark, the new B2B hike/bike trail. It is a quiet rural location with plenty of nature around and great neighbors. Just minutes from the village and a few more to Ann Arbor's cultural center. Less than a 10 min drive to I-94 or US-23. There are no sidewalks, but traffic is light enough to walk or bike safely to Hudson Mills and the trails around there. It is now an easy enjoyable bike ride to the Dexter Library and the Village by hopping on the B2B trail across the river, accessible from Hudson Mills. The river is clean enough to safely swim in and enjoy canoeing and kayaking in."
  • David P. W.
" I work out of Ann Arbor throughout Washtenaw county and have friends in the Dexter area over the past 32 years. The school system is a 10++. The community is well ordered, friendly, clean and close to major entertainment and dining sites to Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Brighton, Howell and surrounding sites. Properties hold their value well. "
  • uncledaddy426
"quiet neighborhood, walking distance to all schools with exception of the high school. beautiful down town and pedestrian friendly. close to newly added river walk area (b2b trail access). easy access to I94 and US23. family friendly public events, i.e. Dexter Daze, Apple Daze, Civil War days at Gordon Hall. Close to many lakes, parks, golf courses and nature preserves. excellent schools and public library. Dexter Lions Club Christmas tree lot has best trees anywhere! public works dept. does excellent job of maintaining streets (especially in winter). very low crime area never had a problem (even when we forgot to shut the door before going to work!) plenty of restaurants (best bbq downtown next to flower shop). 2 local groceries, only couple of miles from Meijer's as well. (and a Lowes) Dexter cider mill is worth a visit for doughnuts and cider. great bakery downtown next to a family owned hardware store. grab lunch at our drive up A&W across from the American Legion. one visit you will fall in love with Dexter or your money back! p.s. good luck finding the refund guy, but you wont need to."
  • Bobby T.
"Dexter Township is a great place to live, if you work in Washtenaw County or Ann Arbor. Dexter Village is very close which have nice restaurants and eateries and a great bakery. If you are feeling more diverse you can head into Ann Arbor only minutes away and have your choice of restaurant in both price and country of origin. If you are feeling like you need to get outside, all you have to do is walk out your front door and be in fresh air, or a short car ride to one of the areas multiple parks. This area really is a wonderful place to live and work."
