"there's a library one block from my home and the grade school is within easy walking distance, as is Powderhorn Park "
  • Matt K.
"The Phillips and Powerdhorn areas of S. Minneapolis have come a long way in the last decade. The revitalized Lake Street has a lot of great shopping and dining options. And like many parts of the city, crime is down from its apex some 20 years ago. Still, there are frequent break ins, occasional violent crime and too much gunfire to still be considered a "safe neighborhood". Many blocks have improved as neighbors have banded together to improve the welfare of the neighborhood, but there are still many empty and foreclosed homes that allow some blocks to become prime territory for gangs, drugs, prostitution, etc. If police, neighbors, banks, and community groups can continue to work together these places will continue to improve; but as of right now there is still far too much crime."
  • Lori B.
"it's called Central Neighborhood for a reason. you can get anywhere, fast and easy, from here."
  • Laurenhb
"This is an exciting time to buy in Central neighborhood. All around, people are updating the beautiful and historic Victorians on the block. The neighborhood organization is very active and friendly. A park, school, great bars, restaurants, and other awesome neighborhoods nearby make this a great place to live. Be close to the action but go home to your quiet friendly street."
