We’ve had two kids at McGilvra Elementary (one who started in 1st grade), and our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The school community is warm, welcoming, and deeply supportive of students and families alike. The teachers are thoughtful and engaged, and the PTA does an incredible job enriching the school with programs, events, and resources that truly elevate the experience. It’s also just a cute, beautiful campus in the heart of the neighborhood a place our kids genuinely love going to every day.I should also add that the school aftercare program is excellent and well managed. Our kids love going there 2 days a week, get annoyed if we pick them up early, and come home with their homework done.

"Bastile day at luc’s, block parties, events at the Japanese garden, pick nicks in Madison park, walking to the water to watch the fireworks or watching the jets from our deck on seafair. Madison park has a rich social scene. If you prefer crafy options the Y is nearby. "
