They aren't allowed to talk to each other, and the emphasize more on what the kids being "dressed for success" which is a front. 1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average12- year parent of KCPS, with a Junior at Central. The school has been excellent for us. Their rookie robotics team went all the way to the World Championships this year, which we were apart of. Our Junior is interning with Cerner twice a week, through the school. Our grades are great, the teachers have been exemplary, the only thing missing is the support of the broader community. It’s unbelievable that such a great facility is so vastly underutilized by midtown Kansas City. "The widely held perception of our neighborhood is plain wrong. Santa Fe Place 27th to Linwood / Prospect to Indiana is a great place to live. Great neighbors, very little crime, walkable, beautiful housing stock, peaceful and quiet. Sure there are many properties and lots that need to be re-built but they take a back seat to the majority of houses that are well kept. The properties sell for so little that it will not be long before the young starting out realize they can own large homes for next to nothing and there will be a shortage of available properties. It may take 5 years but then all of the houses will rise to substantial value. The architectural features of the individual houses rival any in Hyde Park or the Old Northeast,. The residents are friendlier; and more willing to be helpful then my 10 year experience of living in Mission Hills. Driving downtown, the River Market or Westport takes just 8 minutes. Driving to I435 and Metcalf takes 20 min. The Plaza 10 minutes. This is a great central location I would recommend."
