My child is excited to attend Doby’s Mill every morning; she’s the one rushing me out the door. The teachers are so passionate and kind. There is a lot of engagement expected from parents, and I love that they keep us involved. My only complaint is that several children in my child’s class seem far enough behind that they should be evaluated for placement in a different class instead of holding back everyone else. I don’t expect a whole lot from kindergarteners but being able to talk and follow basic instruction seems necessary. When my child describes what they do each day, sometimes it’s obvious that they’re catering to a select few who are struggling with things they should have been taught at home years before.
