We have had the most awesome and continuous communication and support from Princical McManigal. She doesn't hesitate to respond to parents when they have questions. We love her! The PTA is outstanding--- there are always fun activities and fun ways to get involved. Pocorn Fridays, Picnics, Movie Nights, Dine Out Nights, Meet the Masters, just to name a few. They have fun events all the time! This school is so enriching both for my child and for our family. Academically, I am thrilled with Ambuehl. It is obvious how much the teachers care about their students and helping them succeed. My child loves going to school so much she doesn't want to leave when I pick her up, lol. She is learning so much, so quickly. She brings home and wows me with the work she does. And I can see her love of learning carry over at home. I am thrilled with the academic progress she is making and the friendships she is developing. She told me she has so many best friends now that she can't decide who to play with at recess-- so cool! At one point I had my son at a local prestigious private school in 8th grade and was planning on keeping him at that school. However, when my daughter was a freshman at San Juan, I was able to clearly see the academics and programs that the school offered were on par, if not far surpassed the private schools in the area. If your child is focused and an honors student, this school is excellent. The teachers are smart and caring and classes are taught to prepare them for the competition in college. In addition, this school has a variety of classes and courses to choose from. Almost way too many. To the point that my daughter felt bad she didn’t have room to take a lot of the classes she was interested in. If your child is one that challenges him/herself, than I assure you, it’s an amazing high school. The honors and ap teachers, counselors and even the amazing principal are here to prepare them for what’s to come in college. "I’ve lived here for 18 years and love everything about this area. Bike trails that leads to the beach (Doheny is closest), mountain bike and hiking trails in the hills nearby, short drive to surf Salt Creek, San Clemente, Trestles, etc. 10 degrees cooler than Mission Viejo because of the ocean breeze!"
