Room Description

The House & Location:

The house is a 3-story/4-bedroom traditional Baltimore brick row-house in Little Italy, a quaint historic section surrounded by booming economy and new development. Within several blocks you have everything you need - a Whole Foods, CVS, tons of bars and restaurants, a movie theater, 2 gyms, bowling, Starbucks, boutique shops, etc. Walk a few blocks more and you're Downtown, the Inner Harbor or in Fells Point. You will not need a car day-to-day.

House Details:

large row house - 3 floors plus basement for storage
4 bedrooms, 2 full bath, 2 large main rooms, gated backyard patio w/grill
furnished main rooms (bedroom not furnished)
washer/dryer in unit
internet/wifi (400mbits), home theater, Roku, Xbox/Playstation
parking on street with pass ($20/yr)
quiet, safe neighborhood, friendly neighbors, EXCELLENT location.

What we're looking for:

stable, responsible, considerate, reasonable, clean
professional or college grad
male or female
willing to share in chores and help maintain the house
ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS, no smoking/vaping inside, no pets, nothing illegal (sorry!)

The Arrangements:

rent is due 1st of month and before move-in
security deposit of $700, due before move-in
utilities are evenly split between residents, generally around $120 each
credit & verification check required if we move ahead ($30+$2 fees)
required co-habitation agreement (roommate responsibilities and house business)
some flexibility on lease, but longer commitments are much preferred

We have both a lease with the landlord, and house share/roommate arrangement. We have *some* flexibility on lease period but prefer longer stays. Deposits are the same amount as monthly rent (which depends on room). Utilities are separate and handled by primary lessor / roommate. The amount depends on use - typically it's been $120 per person, but it varies depending on season and overall efficiency. They include water, electricity, gas and internet. They may also include things that make sense to share, like cleaning products, paper products, etc.

What Locals Say about Little Italy

  • Ellakatelewis
"It is chill to have a dog in the neighborhood. Super walkable and pretty views for dogs. However, rare to have a yard for a private place to let your dog out. "
  • David R.
"ANY Festival hosted in Little Italy is awesome even if you come alone. You have friends here you haven’t even met yet. Lovely neighborhood. Also, good to note any city wide festivals usually have amazing participation from Little Italy. The art installations here are usually among the best. "
  • Maryland
"The area is very nice. Parking is hard to find but other than that it is a cozy neighborhood. Everyone knows each other and is friendly. They are very “nosey “ but very safe and friendly neighborhood with plenty of spots to hang out for fun!"
  • Stefany S.
"Love the festivals & proximity to other great neighborhoods such as Inner Harbor, Harbor East & Fells Point. All easily walkable, with mor fun just a short drive or Lyft away."
  • Stefany S.
"Italian Festivals in the spring & fall, Maldonado Arts Festival in the fall, Light City (in the fall starting in 2019), Ravioli Dinners, Bocce Court"
  • Glen_lockwood
"Wow! Location, location, location. This place is central to everything. We just moved here and love it. Little Italy is near the new theaters and fancy shops (Anthropology opens in 2012), Whole Foods, CVS, a Bikram yoga, what looks like an excellent workout club called MAC, and lots of great restaurants, bars, pasteries and coffee shops. It is a fun atmosphere and we feel very safe. It is close to the waterfront which has a long jogging/walking path from Canton to Federal Hill. Also a new free water taxi route from Little Italy to Federal Hill in 2012. Everything is accessible to Little Italy. You can walk to the metro, the free Charm City Circular bus (both Orange and Green lines), Camden Yards, M&T Stadium, Fells Point, and Federal Hill. Oh, and since we can also walk to Camden we can also take the light rail to the airport (35 min) or the Marc to D.C (73 min). If you want to head North you could take the free bus to Penn Station (or a $13 taxi) and it's 70 min to Philli or 140 min to NY. If you don't want to deal with street parking in Little Italy you can park at the parking garages for about $125/month, or you can ditch the car altogether and subscribe to the Zipcar service which is amazing. They have cars throughout the city for use. Finally I'd like to mention the people. Every day I meet new friends. The people here are warm and caring. Quite a surprise for downtown in a big city."
