Description

Imagine being able to open a window or step outside your front door and hear the sounds of waves crashing and seagulls overhead, and feel the warmth of sunshine year round. Steps away from Hollywood Beach (lifeguard stand #4) and the Channel Islands Marina. Walk on the beach and watch the sunset, or stroll along the Marina and grab a coffee in the morning. This light filled spacious townhouse w/ Southern exposure is incredibly bright & features 3 balconies (2 w/ ocean views) and 2 beds/2 baths.

Welcome to our beach home, our weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of L.A. for the last ten years. We are now making our townhouse available to you, as we have moved across the county and we are unable to get back as often as we would like.

This home has had the same impact on us as it has for all our friends and family who have visited over the years, and we expect it will on you as well: as soon as you open the front door and walk in you feel relaxed, at peace, and at home. Totally chill. The high ceilings, large picture windows and sliding door allow light to flood through, the white walls, the white wood paneling, the comfy down sectional sofa, the natural decor and elements throughout the home all contribute to creating the beach vibes and setting you are seeking. The feeling you get just by opening the front sliding door and hearing the waves crash always surprises me. It's as if you are taking your first breath after days of holding it in.

We think the location is perfect. Hollywood Beach is a bit secluded - the beaches are visited mostly by locals, and never crowded. There are a few buildings between our condo complex and the beach - it's a tiny beach village featuring the Hollywood Beach Cafe and a boutique. Directly across from our condo complex the other direction - on the Marina side - are all the great shops, restaurants and cafes in the Channel Island Marina. There is a liquor store right across the street which has amazing Gyros and homemade hummus - a must stop every visit. It's always a great spot to pick up last minute food essentials like coffee, milk and sugar. Every Sunday the Marina hosts a Farmer's Market. If you must get in your car, it will be for grocery shopping - there are two grocery stores within 5 minute drive. And if you want a nice evening out, downtown Ventura is a 15 minute drive away, and always a good time.

Ok, so our place is pretty special. But let's chat about the details. The space is about 1000 square feet. It is a corner 2-story south facing unit, which means you can watch the sunrise and sunset and have sun all day (in real estate, this is prime), and it has windows on 3 sides which means more light and more of that ocean breeze. It has 3 balconies. Two are south facing and have ocean views. The 3rd balcony is off the downstairs bedroom and faces the elementary schoolyard behind us, and mountain and palm trees beyond that. Our townhouse is technically a 3-bedroom, but we are renting it as a 2-bedroom as we have placed all our personal items in one of the bedrooms! The two bedrooms you do have access to have queen beds. The downstairs bedroom has access to the full bathroom downstairs (with a shower/tub combo and large vanity/sink). The upstairs bedroom is a loft room (with a pony wall overlooking the downstairs living and dining areas), and does not have an official door to the room as it is a loft. This room is, however, en-suite to the 3/4 bathroom (with shower), and laundry room, upstairs. Both bedrooms have balconies. The 3rd balcony is off the living room, and the most special as it has direct view of the sand and ocean. The kitchen is on the smaller side, but totally functional and fully equipped with all the small and large appliances you will need. Again, it's been our home away from home for years and we have furnished it as such. Included: Breville Espresso maker, crockpot, insta pot, blender, Almond Cow (instant almond milk maker), toaster oven, fridge, stove and dishwasher, and more. We have all the linens, towels and blankets you'll need, including beach/pool towels and beach gear.

There is ample street parking in front, and unassigned homeowner parking in the gated lot behind us. We find it easiest to just park on the street, but if you're heading out of town for a bit the gated spaces are nice.

We have WIFI, flat screen smart TVs (one in the loft bedroom and one in the living room), and Sonos speaker in the living/dining area. The fireplace is gas. The heating is electric wall heaters and the fireplace. There is no AC - it's not needed this close to the ocean.

You will have access to the shared amenities at the condo complex including the pool, hot tub and tennis courts. You will also have access, obviously, to the beach :) and the wonderful Channel Islands Marina. You will also have sole access to our condo and our storage room downstairs (full of beach stuff).

We are looking for a tenant who needs a short term stay, preferably 1-3 months. We cannot accommodate shorter lease terms. If you need a longer lease term, please reach out with your needs and we can discuss.

Due to short duration of lease term (1 month to 3 months), utilities can stay in owner's name, but renter is responsible for utility charges accrued during their stay.

Tenant must abide by HOA rules and regulations, which are pretty typical to most condo buildings.

Tenants with pets: we unfortunately cannot allow cats, as we have a family member who is extremely allergic. One pet (dog) allowed only.

Lease to be 30 days to 90 days. For longer lease terms, please inquire with your desired dates and we can discuss.
