My name is Travis Motal and I am the principal of Taylor Middle School. Our vision is that all students will be successful. Our staff works hard to reach this vision daily. My daughter transferred from one of the bigger districts suburban districts near Austin for the 20-21 school year. I was very worried about how things would go as a new student in the middle of a pandemic along with beginning the year virtually. My worries were unfounded. My daughter has had 2 great teachers during this long school year. There were changes made to classes due to many virtual students returning in person. Both teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure that my daughter is thriving and learning. She looks forward (most days) to going to school. In February, the district hired a new superintendent, Dr. Padavil who is doing a great job of ensuring that all the schools are focused on students and teachers being able to teach. There is a new principal for the upcoming school year with new positive vibes going through the district. The district is also unique because it has an amazing Early Childhood school (PK3 - Kinder) for its littlest learners. I love the small town vibe and compassion, and we are looking forward to seeing what the upcoming school year will bring.

THJ is a judge free zone for all children, all the staff members treat and care for the kids as their own. My child has grown tremendously and loves to attend school & learn new things!
