7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is the worst in the area. Central has a huge drug issue, more so than any school I've ever encountered. The students also skip so often to where it has become normal for 90% skip at least once a semester. Even the staff are terrible. They tend to avoid any problems that surface, including fights. Staff are encouraged to wait until even punching finishes to punish, if even that.Central is a horrid horrid horrid school.Parent Review10y ago8 Reviews - Hintgen Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWell, I am going to be an 8th grader at Longfellow at the end of the month, and I'd have to say that Longfellow is a wonderful school. The teachers are SUPER helpful when it comes to homework or if you need help with anything. We have many extracurricular activies such as band, choir, show choir, volleyball, basketball, football and more. There are many things that I can say that are good there but a couple things that are bad are... It's a split school which means that there is another school in the basement. The other school is a charter school and some of the students and teachers are quite mean to the other people in the building. Another downfall is that we aren't able to carry a backpack around school to help us keep everything together. But that's about it. Like I said before, the teachers and staff there are very helpful with any question you have about anything, you can trust everyone in the building! Hope this helps!!!Other Review11y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 2920 E Ave S.

"Downtown is no place to raise kids. A lot of homeless people live in the downtown area. Homeless like to stay in parks. There is a lot of noise due too the bars at night."

"Dogs are usually well trained and sociable, and owners are polite and neighborly. Unfortunately, the fences used for yards are usually chain link which detracts from the overall appeal of the neighborhood. "

"I see people walking dogs every day. Most homes have dogs and/cats. Dogs are required to be leashed and please stay out of yards. La Crosse also has dog parks and concerts in the park which are dog friendly."
