Posted by a community member on 8/8/2014I currently a 7th grader at Longfellow Middle School. All of my teacher I have at the moment I think are great! I love the opportunities there are for clubs, sports, and other extra activities. I think this is the best school around the La Crosse area.

We love public education and Emerson has knocked it out of the park for us. Amazing staff that are supportive and responsive. When something has come up, or additional support is needed, they partner with you to make a plan. My favorite part is the community this school offers. It is an "old school" way of thinking and it seems as though parent involvment is not very welcomed. There is a new principle now and small positive changes were seen in the past 2010-2011 school year. But La Crosse has choice schools in it's district and Spence just has not kept up with new and progressive changes that can be seen at other La Crosse Schools.
