Description

A-frame homes are more evocative of nature than any other form of architecture. Whether you notice the peak of the roof replicates pine trees surrounding it or the mountain summits nearby, there is just something about an A-frame home that is suited to vacation homes and full-time residences.. With windows angled right to capitalize on the sun's trajectory, this is a bright, beautiful, open space to inhabit. One of the reasons A-frames became popular is that it is a very durable home in heavy snow, as the steep-sloping roof prevents excessive loads accumulating. This home sits on a sunny, south facing lot on a quiet street close to Main Street in Mammoth Lakes. It has a large storage shed at the back of the property and plenty of space in the front for parking or perhaps adding on to the house, or creating a garage. Nearby Shady Rest Park is the home of many activities, both organized and unorganized. Soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball are played there, weather permitting. There are also trails in the surrounding woods for walking, hiking, mountain biking, dog walking and more. The park also features free public BBQ's and a playground and is a favorite for holding kids birthday parties. In wintertime, Shady Rest is a top spot for x-c skiing, too.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Trulia. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.

"If you’re wealthy and you know how to manage HOA condominium complexes if that’s where you choose to live then you should be OK. However, if you are a labor or an undocumented citizen, this is a very expensive town to live in. The police department is very responsive and for the most part, the town is very safe, however if you don’t have a whole lot of money, don’t expect much help from local government or authorities"
  • Trulia User
