Historic 1912 art studio! What a delightful space this home holds both in history and uniqueness. The studio was constructed in 1912 and has been in the Kellogg family ever since. Built on a portion of the Scripps Manor estate as an art studio for the daughter of Frederick W. Kellogg, Elena Scripps Kellogg, The studio has its own history. Elena loved art and spent many hours drawing and painting here along with entertaining significant guest and holding Art expeditions. John Muir was one of the many guests that visited here. The Studio offers a large unique space with a grand north facing window, desired by artists for natural light, a fireplace, dining area with built in hutch. There is a kitchen and bedroom/bath downstairs. Upstairs is a bedroom and bathroom and off the front porch is the third bedroom with bath. Off the main room is a hallway that leads to the covered patio. The almost 15,000 sqft lot gives privacy and seclusion and offers room for many visitors of the expeditions of Art that have occurred here over the many years. The model T garage has a bathroom attached and has also been used as an artist studio with skylights and a private entrance. The home has been updated over the years with the addition of central heating and air, updated electrical panel and lighting and a remodeled kitchen in the 1980s. The roof is made of curved, copper sheet metal and the chimney was recently replaced. A Historical biography on the home and its owners has been prepared and is available upon request.

The only area of concern is there are wild animals living in the area; coyotes, bears, bobcats, skunk, opossum, rattlesnake and deer. Dogs and cats should never be left unmonitored in their yards, as they may be eaten or injured by coyotes at any time of the day."
