"Safe and pleasant to walk the dog. You can walk along the beach or even walk to a coffee shop. No dogs on beaches though so keep that in mind."

"With the West Seattle Bridge out of commission, it will be a struggle to get downtown Seattle once everyone starts going back to work."

"Cars can drive a bit recklessly, but for the most part I would say this is the safest neighborhood in Seattle. "

"I bus into downtown 3 times a week and it’s a pretty easy 50 minute commute. The busses out of alki are safe and sanitary. The commute by car isn’t so bad either, though the freeways on the other side of the bridge are not the nicest during rush hour or otherwise. "

"The area has good bus service but it can be a challenge during peak hours if you try driving into or put of the city center or doing times when concerts or sporting events are happening."

"This Neighborhood is right on the Beach and faces the Olympic Mountains. Everyone is friendly. Great for dog walks although dogs aren't allowed on the beach it's self, there is a long paved path wrapping around the entire coastline until you get to Seacrest park. Plenty of great restaurants. Fire pits on the beach. Free Shuttle to Seacrest Park and up the hill to more shops. If you want to feel like you're out of the city but still close enough to get to work efficiently, this is your place"

"My fiance and I just moved here in the past couple months and it has been the happiest accident we have ever experienced. We had been looking in the North Seattle, Ballard/Green Lake, area when we stumbled upon our current home in the Alki area. It checked all of or boxes and we just went for it without really knowing anything about the area. But, we haven't looked back since! It is so close to the city, yet feels like its whole own world. Full of families and parks and hello, THE BEACH. Plus there are a ton of great bars and restaurants within walking distance and all kinds of cute shops and artisan groceries. We have fallen hard for this area and I almost hesitate to share, because the whole world should be moving here and I'm not sure we are prepared for that. It is too good of a secret not to share though - Alki all the way! "

"Killer Views of Olympic & Cascade Mtn.'s., Puget Sound & Seattle Skyline. 12 minutes by water taxi or 10 minutes by car & 15 minutes by bus to Seattle City Center. Clean, Friendly, Safe. A rare find, a cherished locale."

"I live in Alki and actually reside in the building where the unit is for sale. It's a vibrant community with the beach at your doorstep. Nearby restaurants provide entertainment and summers here draw fun crowds. The winter beach scene takes on a more subdued personality and activities quiet down, time to snuggle and walk the beach in a more melancholic way. Of course a steaming hot bowl of chowder is just around the corner. "
