7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't want to go into a lot of detail but I will say, if you have the means to send your child elsewhere, do so. My son's second and third grade teachers were wonderful but his first and fourth grade teachers..... the things that they will say to your child is shocking and the principle will be on the side of the teacher. Your child has no voice in this school. My son hates school this year to the point that he will beg me not to make him go. I hope for the sake of the kids some changes are made here. Madison has a 3 rating for a reason; It's one of the worst schools in the Cedar Rapids area. I will be sending my child elsewhere toOther Review9y ago5 Reviews - Roosevelt Middle School

"Even though it's a family oriented neighborhood, ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE, WHO THEY'RE WITH, THE ROUTE THEY ARE TO TAKE TO GET BACK HOME, AND DO SURPRISE CHECKS ONCE IN AWHILE! That's what kept me on my toes!!!! "

"it's not a safe neighborhood. there are gunshots on a weekly basis. I do not recommend anyone move to this area, especially if they have children. we have seen police presence, high speed chases, drug deals in the street, people walking their dogs off leash. it's not safe."

"Neighbors are friendly and kind. Neighborhood is great for taking walks and bike rides, and only a short 10 minute walk to Newbo. Pleasant neighborhood that I’ve enjoyed living in, however street lights are not always plentiful or working, so walks may be better taken during daylight. Really feel like this area is quaint and quiet, but just needs a little love from the city to give it a facelift. "
