About this House

Come check out this amazing (and HUGE) pet-friendly living space in the beautiful Congress Park neighborhood. The unit is a two-story, turn of the century style house attached to a five unit building. It is apart of the original home/structure, which was built by Mayor Robert Speer's Treasurer in the early 1900s. The house is equipped with hardwood floors, detailed trimming & woodwork (living room cabinets, built-in benches and mantel around the gas fireplace), and stunning crown molding. It also flaunts lovely themed stained glass windows in the stairwell and upstairs bathroom. While the charm of the space is undeniable, the features/practicalities of the unit are what really make it one of the best values you will find in Denver.

Although it is a connected unit, it has three separate entrances (two private, one shared). It includes a private driveway leading to your one car garage. The garage also has entry to the unit leading into the basement where the washer and dryer located (also private, not shared). The floor plan lends itself to very large/open rooms, particularly so for the living room and bedrooms. The high ceilings contribute further to the spacious feeling in the unit. All appliances in the kitchen are updated and stainless steel. Every room gets great natural light, especially the bedrooms. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The one has an additional little room attached without a door that can be used as an office/yoga room/art space/powder room/etc. There is an additional room located adjacent to the living room that has closing doors that could be used as additional quarters for a heavy sleeper (we used it as a music room). There are 1.5 bathrooms.

The location only adds to the positive features of this rental. It is right in the middle of three of Denver's most prized parks - City Park (less than a mile walk), Cheesman Park (.7 mi), and Congress Park (1.1 mi). Several restaurants, bars and music venues are within walking distance and grocery shopping/pharmacy is accessible by bike/short drive. Access to bus routes is just a couple blocks away.

The initial lease would cover December 1st, 2017 through July 1st, 2017, as you would be taking over the current lease. This may be negotiable if you are looking for a full year lease. First month's rent and a $1000 security deposit are due at signing. Please contact me (Josie) to schedule a time to come check it out (pictures do not do it justice) or if you have additional questions.

  • Madison Hargis
"Family friendly community that feels very safe even off of big cross streets. I have seen streets blocked off for block parties on multiple occasions, and everybody is respectful."
  • Trulia User
"Great neighborhood. Friendly neighbors, clean, and safe. This feels like a suburb in the middle of the city!"
  • Trulia User
"Cute family oriented neighborhood that has two different strips of restaurants/ coffee shops as well as hardware and convenience stores. "
  • Trulia User
"Great access to buses. The bus off colfax is a little sketchy sometimes, but it runs constantly and late into the night, so that’s helpful. "
  • Trulia User
"Family heavy neighborhood that is full of sidewalks and handful of food options. Walkability is great in all directions "
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 13 years and love it. Very family friendly, residential, but so close to city center. "
  • Trulia User
"A mix of apartments and homes, and attracts some houseless folks due to the closeness of colfax and colorado. "
  • Trulia User
"I work from home and I couldn’t ask for a better neighborhood to walk my dog at lunch, I am within walking distance of three parks, 7 restaurants and 23 coffee cafes "
  • Birzabrian
"Easy peasy to get to just about anywhere! 10-15 minutes to downtown, quick access to all the major highways, all in all a great location. "
  • James S.
"Plenty of pups! I walk around and have never had an awkward interaction or felt as if the animal was aggressive. Congress Park dogs make me consider adopting!"
  • Charliew3
"Everyone seems nice and keeps the neighborhood real! I really appreciate the kind environment and it’s great for four legged friends "
  • Deepa
"Easy by car - centrally located not in the middle of downtown but in a very lively and nice neighborhood. "

"I’ve lived here for a few years now I love it..........................................................................."
  • Bete.noire+trulia
"THE BOTANICAL GARDENS ARE THE WORST BUSINESS CITIZEN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. STEER CLEAR UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR OWN GARAGE WITH DOOR, THE GARDENS' PARKING IS COMPLETELY INADEQUATE AND THEY DO NOT GIVE TWO TUGS ABOUT INCONVENIENCING THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD WITH SWARMS OF SUBURBANITES AS LONG AS THEY MAKE A BUCK! NOR DO THEY COMPENSATE LOCAL RESIDENTS WITH SO MUCH AS A COURTESY DISCOUNT FOR DISRUPTING OUR PEACE. AVOID!"
  • Lauren V.
"There are families in the area. The neighborhood feels safe and has schools nearby. There are parks everywhere, which is a bonus."
  • Sfnic
"Lots of art and music festivals. Great restaurants. Parks. Bars and coffee shops. It’s all within walking distance!"
