9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child takes mostly AP classes and has been on a fairly rigorous academic track. The school offers many classes and clubs that support his long term goals in life as far as giving him the credentials and experience needed to pursue a top tier university. However, the school overall lacks significantly in other areas, perhaps due to the challenges normally found within large public high schools. There is smoking/vaping in the restrooms to the extent that kids won't use the restroom during the day. Fights are not uncommon. So - if your child is on a strong academic track, there are many classes and supports at this school for that population and they will do great. The teacher who teach the honors and AP classes are exceptional and the students in those classes are top notch. If they aren't, they will most likely get lost in the mix.Parent Review6mo ago - Aliso Viejo Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was a horrible experience! My son was bullied at first day of school, kids saying words like "You're gross! Yucky! and Not normal" because he has a tiny ear tag. The teacher wasn't even aware this was happening for days until I brought it to her attention. She has been speaking to me every end of class to say my son talks a lot, my son was not behave in line, my son yelled at some one (which btw is the same kid who's bullying him) and told my son to be kind to others without even knowing why my son reacted that way. It's my son's first in person experience ( homeschooled K-1st G) and the teacher was not supportive at all almost like blaming being homeschooled saying 'he probably missed important social milestones while being homeschooled'. How can he join the boys group if 90% of them does not want to include him because he doesn's speak Spanish. He was confident and full of self esteem until he went to this school even asking me to move out of state, so it was that bad! One time they put my son in detention, a 6yold who repeatedly said that he just accidentally stepped into the Girl's bathroom when he and his girl glassmates were playing catch. He was put into detention for that but not those kids who deliberately bully not once but repeatedly in class, during recess, following him until lunch time. I am appalled with the kind of culture this school has. 2 weeks is enough torment for my son. Bye!Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 24675 Via Carissa.
