Hart has been a great school for my teenager. On his own he has been inspired by teachers to work hard, take harder classes and involve himself in a wide variety of activities. Like any teen he probably would rather not go to school at all, but that aside, he’s having a great experience at Hart.

Placerita Junior High has been an amazing experience for our family. My daughter is thriving in 7th grade—academically and creatively—thanks to programs like Advanced Band, Morning Miner TV, and the Junior Arts program. The principal is truly outstanding. He listens, cares, and shows up to support students at every event, no matter the time. The entire staff is dedicated and kind, and there’s a strong sense of community. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Placerita!

I’m so glad that my child is at AOC! It’s a small school, about 400 students total, which makes for a tight-knit and welcoming community. My child tells me all the time how everyone is so nice and respectful of one another. At AOC, kids take some college classes at COC, so that upon graduating, they can earn up to 44 units toward their college years and get a lot of their basic college requirements done. The school encourages self-advocacy and maturity, allowing the student to take the lead and preparing them for life in college and beyond. They also teach how the student learns rather than applying the same methods to everyone. I appreciate their group-based and even play-based learning and truly fostering a love of learning and curiosity. I’ve been recommending the school to local friends—it’s a gem in our community.

The learning is mundane, the education is average, you won't know your child is doing horribly until you get their report card because the teachers will just smile in your face. Teachers and administration play favortism so get into the PTA and you'll be fine (their kids can do whatever they want). The park next door has homeless people (often). If your child has an IEP or 504, no one cares, they don't follow it. BULLYING is horrendous and clearly no one can do anything about it (as stated in another review). If your child is anything but white, good luck (see review about kids being bussed in, and how they didn't pay for that and read between the lines). The bright side, there are TONS of meaningless but fun family engagement activities and if you're in the "click" you'll love them! The school is run by a group of parents and though the principal is nice, her hands are bound by that.
