"Pet friendly and numerous dog park. Lots of walkable space. Not that much coyote and lots of squirrel and rabbit to chase"
  • Marvin
"Living in Verdugo Woodlands has been a wonderful experience for my family. The neighborhood feels peaceful and safe, with tree-lined streets perfect for evening walks. Verdugo Woodlands Elementary is a gem—teachers are caring, parents are involved, and the programs really keep kids engaged and happy. My children love walking to school and we’ve built strong friendships with other families. Verdugo Park is another highlight, with wide open spaces, great playgrounds, and plenty of shaded picnic areas where kids can play freely. It’s a truly family-friendly community where children thrive and parents feel connected."
  • Tammy Postajian
"My commute around Glendale is over all easy. Not much traffic here. I don’t use public transit. ……………"
  • Trulia User
"Very safe area, close to Sports Complex, neighbors are super nice, people are very helpful, close to Montrose restaurants and multiple good stores. "
  • Trulia User
"Everyone has a dog, and walks their dog. People are friendly and will talk to you when you run into them as you walk your dog. There are also several dog parks in the area, although few of them are grass."
  • Trulia User
"I use my personal car to commute. Public transportation exists, but is very sporadic, meaning that people who use public transportation need to wait long periods of times."
  • Virginia C.
"perty much nice area only important thing to worry about is pets not safe outdoors alone wild life in hills have to be very watchful also for small children. we live in there back yard. otherwise nice place to live in.😁"
  • Catherine B.
"I’ve lived here for 5 years. Very family oriented and quiet. Not a lot of action. Park close by for nice walks. "
  • Stephen.d.board
"The Don’t send them to LAUSD whatever you do. People drive a little too fast and there are a lot of hot-headed middle easterners with oil money. Definitely one of the best neighborhoods in LA county. It has its own little weather system. I wish I could afford it. "
  • Aykui A.
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 35 years and it's beautiful, quiet and I love it. I do not want to move away."
  • SunnyStephen
"There are some crazy drivers. Also I’m skeptical of the education system like public schools. It’s a nice neighborhood and has its own weather system it seems. The smog doesn’t miss it though. I’m. It a parent. I’m not sure if I’ll actually be able to continue living here. It’s nice but all of LA is way over priced in my opinion"
  • Liz C
"Annual neighborhood event at Casa Adobe in the Fall. There are fun events for the kids and a buffet lunch for all attendees."
  • Lizcc08
" Close to freeways and downtown. It’s a manageable drive to work in central downtown. It’s also easy to get to a Pasadena, Burbank or the Valley. Good central location."
  • Susan F.
"Great place for families. Excellent elementary schools. Downtown Montrose is a wonderful secret in southern California. "
  • Virginia C.
"the neighborhood is very friendly but needs more brighter street lights, traffic control in front of college to many double parking picking up students causing possible traffic accidents & road rage, i know because it happen to me almost hitting vehicle sticking out. People racing driving to fast in school areas. Most importantly having to pay for permits to park in our own neighborhood and not enough parking where permit is assigned. Not being able to have visitors during the week when only one guest pass is assigned per residential driver. very upsetting after having to pay for parking and not but only one guest pass for one visitor car during the week, only weekends not needed. also students leaving trash, bottles, cigarettes bud all over sidewalks grass bus stops. we need trash cans. pooping bags, ashtrays like in front of College at least the closest apartment building to college. faster bulkie funiture pickup. thanks"
  • Elizabeth W.
"We love the neighborhood. It’s close to Trader Joe’s, Von’s, CVS, Starbucks etc and Montrose is adorable."
  • Lizcc08
"Neighborhood lunch celebration at Adobe house each year. Movie nights at Verdugo park during the Summer. That’s all I can think of. "
  • Stephanie F.
"it's wonderful the neighbors are very attentive everybody takes care of the car and it's dog friendly plays it's a very good Community it doesn't look like at the beginning but if you walk around and get to know people that's really fantastic the homes are exquisite and the police come at a drop of a pin"
  • Lorenzodsanpedro
"There's a lot of beautiful matured trees and charming vintage homes built in the 1920s. Lots of walking paths, parks and golf course. Simply beautiful!!!"
  • Jo A. S.
