More shopping (Safeway, drug stores, hardware store, gas station, bakery, auto repair, hospital and all kinds of medical/dental/vision offices are a little more than a mile to the north. All of this is within easy walking, biking or driving distance. Community forest with redwood trees just to the east is in process of being established, and it will have hiking, biking and horse trails. The elevation is about 150-200 feet above sea level. Cutten is about 3 miles inland, so it is sunnier, warmer and less foggy than areas to the north and west. Yet on a calm day the foghorns at the mouth of Humboldt Bay can be heard.
