"There’s nothing for children to do here . No skating , no splash pad , you have the beach a that gets boring after so long. Manistee is all about tourism not the residents. "
  • Bethany S.
"If you live in the right spot everything is close by. Most people are pretty friendly. some genuinely care to help a neighbor"
  • Ccoddenwrestling
"Almost all dog owners live in this community. Good places for dog owners to walk their pets along with open beaches. "
  • Steve J.
"lot of historic sites, the oldest continuing me operating fire station in the state beautiful beaches campgrounds lots of fishing... Dollar casino close by "
  • Raegan C.
"They would like all the tree they can pee on. They wouldn’t like the creepy people or the nasty sidewalks. "
  • Hannah H.
"friendly and helpful. good for kids...nice areas to walk. easy for kids to get around. close to shopping and downtown"
  • Brandee P.
"Easy access to downtown stores and beaches , short walking distances , with many beaches , busses for transportation unless access to own vehicles , "
  • Courtney L.
"I love the sleigh bell parade. Or the fact that the beach is so close! Watching boats come in is fun!"
  • Ccoddenwrestling
"The neighbors and the hood are awesome. Lighting is not the best but in town it’s pretty good. Things are close together and the sidewalks for the most part are walkable. "
  • Lampinen
"A rural community that's friendly, accommodating, and has the most beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan."
  • brizlyn14
"I feel our neighborhood is for the most part safe and I like that we have a very beautiful beach. The city itself keeps our city and beaches maintained and clean. We also have a fair amount of activities and resources available."
  • JT
"Up and coming beach town with down home friendly neighborhoods and a downtown that has something for everyone."
  • Hannah T.
"I spend my summers up here and it is BY FAR my favorite place to go. There are tons of great restaurants, the people here are so nice and helpful and they really make you feel at home. The city is small enough that you can walk everywhere but big enough that driving around isn't an issue. It has something great to do for all ages, like the casino and the beach. There are many fun activities in the summer such as boat and jet ski rentals, canoeing, festivals, parades, and shopping!!! You really do get that "small town feel" when you are up here. The entire city treats you like family and they are great with both kids and pets! I've lived here, I travel here every summer, and I'd like to live there permanently someday."
