Schoorel in 1934, it is the ONLY home of its kind in Humboldt County. This cottage greets you with a brick walkway that leads you to the original door and hardware to start your story. The 3 rock fireplaces lead to a whimsical towering conical rock chimney. The wood sash windows throughout that have been restored as always have been, wood beams with incredible detail, concrete/stucco inlays, the Douglas Fir floors in the great room remain the same as they were in 1934. The concrete and brick floor in the kitchen is original to the cottage as well with and added modern twist in the kitchen and downstairs bath. A MUST SEE Kitchen and downstairs bathroom were remodeled in 2012 and they did their best to bring in modern and keep the cottage feel. The upstairs bathroom is fun and fanciful. Being built in 1934, there is no dedicated master suite, double vanities or walk in closets. It is a cottage in every sense of the word. New wood shingle roof was installed approx. 2012. Wood shingles kept the storybook conceptualization unlike comp shingles would have. Chimney and fireplaces have all been restored by Colin Ott Masonry as well as the addition of brick walkway and stairs. The carport has since been converted to a 2 car garage with an automatic door. So many details and the integrity of its original attributes have been well preserved and maintained

The property was sold to the Vance-Ley family and has been owned and occupied by them since they acquired it in 1957!
