"Great diversity in this area which is rare in many parts of souther California. Great community events! "
  • Barbara Mitchell
"This is a very dog-friendly neighborhood. Lots of fellow dog-walkers and a nearby park. But also the occasional skunk or coyote, so you always have to be on alert. "
  • Barbara Mitchell
"I’m retired. Does not apply. Altho Pasadena is very centrally located to downtown LA, Glendale and other large places of business. "
  • Larstrella62
"I have lived here over 36 years and seen it get better, with more business, it’s safer to walk around "
  • danielslattery
"We have happy hours. Potlucks. Street parties and more. Progressive dinner parties. Community yards sales"
  • Benjaminramos323
"We like to see other friendly dog owners getting along with other dog owners. Like how they pick up after their mess. And be respectful and kind with each other. "
  • Barbara Mitchell
"There are some areas that are less safe than others…ask your old-time neighbors. (For example, don’t walk in these streets alone or at night)."
  • Trulia User
"Our street is pretty busy but wouldn’t live anywhere else, been her 42 years and have not had any issues. "
  • John D.
"We live on Glen Ave which is a quiet street with really good neighbors all around. It's much more attractive and well kept than South of Washington or immediately North of Woodbury, although North of Woodbury has been gentrifying extremely rapidly especially since Covid started. There are quite a few churches and a Buddhist temple. This area is very convenient with really awesome supermarkets like Super King and Vallarta that have much better produce options than Vons or Pavilions, which are also nearby. It's extremely quick to get to Trader Joe's as well. You can easily access outdoor and water activities at the Rose Bowl, the arroyo, or Descanso Gardens and there is a 24 hour fitness at Woodbury & Lincoln if you want to stay indoors. The kids from the high school walk home through the neighborhood but they generally behave themselves and it hasn't been a problem. Street parking is easy but guests parking overnight in Pasadena need a $5 permit that you get from a kiosk at the fire station on Fair Oaks."
  • Shakiyla A. D.
"Some people like to speed on the street. So it’s good to just keep a safe distance when crossing the street"
  • Hfrasert
"North lake sees a lot of transients and drug activity. i live right offnofnLake, I hear sirens a lot, and ive had my maik tampered with muktiole times. "
  • Vmhdesign
"There are Beautiful craftsman, bungalows and Victorian homes on every block. On Saturday there is a farmers market at the local high school. "
  • Lorraine F.
"Well I live in upper Altadena, but i used to live down on w mountain and I liked it there. I mean other than the “landlord” there (she’s long gone btw) , and there was the occasional parties that personally didn’t bug me but I know how it can be. But anyway Altadena is really cool and mostly quiet. And ever now and then you’ll see a couple of horseback riders which I love and I’d say that sorta unique."
  • Imani T.
"Public transportation is good. Neighbors are nice. Neighborhood is safe. Neighbors are like family. Very nice."
  • T D
"Lots of speeding traffic on bigger streets, pedestrians should be careful. Otherwise very safe neighborhood."
  • AP
"It is relatively close to Old Pasadena and it has a sense of small community. There's shops and salons within walking distance."
  • Ariana P.
"Most dogs are enclosed so it's a good place to walk your dogs around the block. Also, there is always people so your dog would get used to being around people. "
  • liz
"While it is nice. It is surrounded by very sketchy areas with high crime. This home stands out as is one of the nicest homes."
  • Hartemployment
"it's one of only a few city blocks that has it's electricity lines underground. so we don't experience interference from fallen tree branches when there's wind."
  • David M.
"Very quite, relaxing, mesmerizing, walkable place to live. It is a peaceful neighborhood to live for you and your family."
