6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had 5 children go through the district and, sad to say, Boyd is the weakest building. The principal is a "yes woman," there is an anti-bullying policy in name only, and while there are some excellent teachers, most are average, at best. There is a general culture of mediocrity among staff that has been impossible to crack for years. Unfortunately, the children suffer. Students leave the school unable to write an essay or a basic report and core subjects such as social studies and science are often overlooked in order to prep for the all-important NYS test.Parent Review6y ago - Elwood Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a 7th student in Elwood Middle School. The teachers are very nice and are always trying to get us to do our best. They always encourage us to work our hardest. There are many programs so there is something for everyone. The sports teams are really good and the coaches are amazing. The music program is also amazing. The kids are really nice too.Other Review10y ago - Harley Avenue Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school should have known better than to give me a false certificate of graduation which this school district is the worst on LI and this school never cared about autistic students. Ever. They never did and they never will. Bruzynski should be fired along with the whole district!!!Other Review1y ago - Check out schools near 23 Whistler Hill Lane.

"A quiet, safe neighborhood with a good mix of young families and older people who watched their own kids grow up here. Flat, wide streets perfect for bike riding and walks with neighbors and pets. It’s convenient to highways, town, train station and schools but remains tucked away and private. A really nice place to live."

"The neighborhood association organizes a Halloween party, Easter egg hunt and Christmas caroling w/visit from Santa for children every year. The local fire department drives through the neighborhood the week before Christmas with Santa to bring holiday cheer to the residents. The people living here are quite friendly, saying hello and stopping to chat even with new residents. It’s a really lovely, quiet place to live that’s conveniently located and family-friendly."

"I was born and raised in Huntington Station! Now I may not like the area too much as it is changing rapidly and we had to install an alarm system but I feel our block is safe and I love our neighbors! At least most of them. Some of the neighbors on our block down attend to their houses and keep them in such a disarray that it was really embarrassing! I wish I could get their act together and realize that it really does affect all of us"

"I've lived in this neighborhood for over 11years and have enjoyed it. It's a harworking class community that is in the center of a lot of transit options and 5 mins from downtown Huntington with all that has to offer . It's an up and coming area that's still relatively affordable for the region . I would reccomend living or renting here ."
