James H Boyd Elementary School

I've had 5 children go through the district and, sad to say, Boyd is the weakest building. The principal is a "yes woman," there is an anti-bullying policy in name only, and while there are some excellent teachers, most are average, at best. There is a general culture of mediocrity among staff that has been impossible to crack for years. Unfortunately, the children suffer. Students leave the school unable to write an essay or a basic report and core subjects such as social studies and science are often overlooked in order to prep for the all-important NYS test.

My my child started out OK. Then after three months my child started to have problems. Problems were not rectified by the teacher or the principal. My child continued to have problems into the next year of fourth grade. Which caused problems not only with this child but my other child in another school. It was like there was never a time when my child had no problems on their hands.
