"nice area family safe convenience to everything lots of stores and shopping close to highways and entertainment "
  • Kgwind
"Some neighborhoods don't have sidewalks so you have no option but to walk in the street. There are many families with dogs and Selden has it's own dog park."
  • Kgwind
"I can't think of any community events that take place.on an ongoing basis. I think there is an annual craft show at the high school. we don't have children a d might know of more events if we did."
  • 65am9xg7w8
"I work at Stony Brook hospital which is a 10 minute ride away. The traffic is usually heavier at rush hour and easier on the ride home. "
  • Fenominal73
"I see people walking their dogs All the time nice area and everyone is kind. I wish I can find my future home here"
  • Nicole W.
"We see people walking their dogs down our street all the time. The yards are all decent size to have a dog play in backyard."
  • Doreen H.
"School District not so hot, there are several great private schools in the area. Plenty of parks around the neighborhood and plenty of opportunities for sports"
  • Travlinjones
"Nice, diversified community. Good schools, various houses of worship, lots of young people with a community college and a state university within 10 miles. Home. "
  • Nicole W.
"Wonderful place to live, good schools & nice people. .."................................................"
  • Proper H. L.
"The school district is good but be wary of bad influences. The neighborhood has a notorious drug problem."
  • Chris M.
"Plenty of children in the area if you have kids it’s fun and a pretty safe place to raise a family and public schools are great"
  • Steven Schwartz
"Great friendly neighbors, dog friendly, many dining opportunities close by. LIE and LIRR are close, makes for great commute"
  • Coramthrift
"I’ve lived here for nine years it’s a great place for my kids they have many friends and so does my wife "
  • Caslei
"There are a lot of dog owners. There is also a fairly new dog park nearby. Backyards are a decent size also. There aren’t a ton of sidewalks for walking but the streets are safe enough with plenty of shoulder. A day does not go by that I don’t see someone walking their dog in my neighborhood. It is definitely very dog friendly. "
  • Maaquest
"I lived in this neighborhood for 20 years close to Entertainment Public transportation schools and shopping. many unique Dining experiences within 5 miles. great Beaches surround this beautiful Island and within a short drive "
  • Imfinedude
"it is a quiet and friendly neighborhood and that's why the kids have good time as well. Crime rate is low as well"
  • Sitler1337
"I have lived in this neighborhood since 2008. all stores are close by and many local family buisness. "
  • Paige
"It’s diverse. There are 3 different school districts in my town, the housing is quasi-affordable for Long Island. It’s close to shopping, public transport (though the transport is shotty) and to the Long Island expressway "
  • Paige
" There are beautiful parts to Coram, and parts that need more attention. Anyone moving here needs to research which part they are moving to. But my town is diverse, with many family owned businesses, close commutes for hospital workers like myself (there are 3 within 15 mins of me) very close to the LIE (the main local expressway) many restaurants, bakeries, etc. but without a car, there are buses, but they don’t run on Sunday’s or in the evenings and rarely come. Basically, you should not come if you cannot drive. The cost of living is still New York prices. And chances are, if you see a house under 400,000 here, it’s in the area that is not reputable. The schools offer many extra activities, with great libraries. And being dead center of the island, it’s a twenty minute drive to either shore. I recommend the north shore for sunsets!"
