6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is disproportionately minority students and caters to kids who are not white and straight. I constantly get messages about equity and inclusion and how I should support it but nothing ever about how to protect all student from the weekly fights that take place between non-white students. The Spanish teacher (chair of the Spanish Dept.) has an LGBTQ flag in her classroom that she took down for back to school night when parents were going to be at the school. The next day, she put it back up. Strange. Seems she’s hiding something. Patents are not made to feel welcome and are questioned at the entrance upon showing ID. I’m surprised they’re not frisked, which is what should be done with most of the students. They also got rid of school security for the 2022-23 school year and fights broke out weekly, if not more, between non-white students. The school went down in ratings over the last 5 years because academics are dictated by select uneducated parents who ask for donations. Donations and if your family has money is how you become prominent in this school. Kids don’t graduate with a solid education or good self esteem. The school is 90% white, not 70%. students graduate with a false sense of reality with a sense of white privileged— because quite frankly, the academics are below average. The school values materialism and is just not a nice place if you are not white or different in any way. People are afraid to declare that you are low income because — that’s just not cool. "If you want to be close to LA's Westside (Santa Monica, Brentwood, Westwood, Beverly Hills, etc.), the Valley and Hollywood, yet feel like you live in the suburbs, this community is for you. The community is in the beautifully green Bel Air area with lots of amenities, catering to children and adults alike."
