5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen I was at the school as a student. During lockdowns, they would turn off the classroom's lights and put everyone in the room at the side of the room. They do not allow hiding. It's like the intruders totally won't find you like this. It's dumb.Other Review5mo ago12 Reviews - North Layton Jr High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe problem with this school isn’t the teachers, it is the horrible administration. The principal has gotten rid of half of his staff because of his ignorance of what makes a good school. Good teachers are leaving in droves and your student will be left with a scared, unsupported and under appreciated staff. Good, qualified leadership makes a superior school. This school is sorely lacking in this area.Other Review9mo ago21 Reviews - Mountain View School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMountain View is absolutely amazing. We are a military family and our children have gone 4 other elementary schools. NONE of the other schools come close to the experience at Mountain View. The parent involvement in the PTA is unmatched. The spectrum program offers outstanding opportunities to challenge and develop your children. After 3 years at the school, we have yet to encountered a single teacher who, as stated below, needs to go.Other Review9y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 2225 E 2900 N.

"Neighbors and families are extremely supportive and kind to one another. This city and neighbor are amazing, and our family is so grateful to live here. Layton is very safe and it has a lot of good shops, restaurants, business, and churches. "

"There are a lot of fenced yards, both front and back. Many of the homes are dog friendly with nearby dog parks. However, there are also a lot of owners that let their dogs run leash free on their walks that do not have good recall. There are also a lot of dogs that jump fences when they’re larger breeds and the fences are not high enough for them and can cause territorial issues. My smaller dog has been attacked several times in her own yard. "

"They wouldn’t like the busy road or no parks, I prefer dog parks for my dogs and sadly there’s nothing like that here. "

"Lots of people own dogs here. Big parks, sidewalks, large yards, and multiple pet stores make this a good place for dogs. Large or small, they will be comfy here. "

"I would guess about 1/2 of the people here have dogs. They’re all very friendly. We have an HOA that requires they be on a leash and owners must clean up all dog poop. Everyone seems to follow the rules very well. I don’t personally have a dog but I don’t mind any of the dogs being outside. I can never hear dogs barking from inside my house, I can only hear a dog if I’m outside at the same time as the dog or have windows opened. "

"That main street is a very busy road, no kids should be near it unsupervised. Layton is very clean town, with many parks and an aquarium in the mall. There are many choices for food and entertainment here. From Cherry Hills water park to Glitter Town Cinemas. "
