10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child needs special education this may not be the school for your child. The special education teachers are wonderful but the process of getting your child enrolled in special education is a nightmare. Don’t even dream of doing it on your own. Make sure you have an official diagnosis for whatever your child’s learning issue or disability is because the only way to get anything done here is if the school is legally required to do it. The woman who is promoted over the school psychologist is the coldest most unempathetic, difficult and unpleasant person I have ever had to work with in any school system. Make sure you have everything documented and don’t back down with these people. If your child has a need for special education and they are in regular classes at all do you not expect those teachers to know what your child’s needs are. Again, The special education teachers are wonderful but the administration and the red tape are terrible. If need be get an attorney to help you but at the very least have a psychiatrist or a letter indicating that your child has specific needs. Even then, it’s a struggle but they don’t want to let go of your child because then they lose funding dollars. Surprisingly, the art program was one of the most difficult programs to work with with and teachers had little patience with kids with disabilities. I felt like they experienced my child as nothing but a nuisance.Parent Review1y ago - Maple School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school cares more about promoting Zionism, gender ideaology, and wokeness on the class. Can my kid just learn how to divide decimals?Parent Review8mo ago - Wescott Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's true - Willowbrook is a standout school in every way. This is my child's second year here and the experience has been phenomenal. The teachers and staff are very supportive and responsive, the curriculum is excellent, the atmosphere is caring, family-oriented, positive, and inclusive. Very lucky to be a part of this community.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 2220 Founders Dr #308.

What Locals Say about Northbrook

"It’s just a quiet sunset residential town. People move here because of the school districts. That’s the main incentive that draws people in, since that’s where most of our property taxes go. It’s mostly family oriented. "

"Walkable to Metra train to city — then about a 40-minute train ride. Also close drive to highway with approx 40-60-minute drive to city. "

"It’s a sundown town. The schools are good. However, there’s not much diversity. If you have a car, you have everything you need and you’re close to 94 and 294, which makes it ideal to commute from the northern suburbs. It’s quiet for the most part and there’s not much going on. It’s mostly a residential town. You only live here if you have kids."

"Family friendly area with incredible parks and schools. Welcome ing community with lots of activities including Northbrook Days every August. We host a very popular summer “concerts in the park” and amazing 4th of July parade with a town pancake breakfast to name a few. "

"There are great schools, parks, and lots of kids. Every extra-curricular activity is available. You are close to a children’s museum and only 25 miles from downtown Chicago. Take your kids downtown on the train—no parking worries."

"I see people walking their dogs everywhere. Plenty of sidewalk and walking paths. There are waste collection stations that supply bags for pick up. Dogs are always leashed, I don’t know of any off leash parks. "
