Description

This adorable private house is perched up in the trees across the street from Six Mile Creek. It's only a 10 min walk to the downtown Ithaca Commons restaurants and playground, but you are in the woods. Walk to Cornell or Ithaca College in 24 min. Enjoy beautiful views through all the windows, and hopefully you will spot the family of deer who live in the back. Three private bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably. The bathroom has a full tub. Available to rent February 1, 2026. Can be leased for a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 35 days anytime from February 1st to March 7th 2026. Kid-friendly. Sorry no dogs. Our little daughter has allergies. $2,200/month includes rent, parking, wifi, electric, gas, and water$2,200 security deposit. $4,400 ($2,200 security deposit + $2,200 for first month’s rent) can be paid via check or Venmo to reserve the home. Send along contact info for current and recent landlord references. We will need to speak with your references. The heat is set to a comfortable 72 degrees. If additional appliances (ex: an approved safe space heater) are used, there will be an additional charge based on usage. All of the linens, blankets and towels you will need are also available to you in the house. There is a front porch that gets morning sun, a stone patio off of the basement, and a deck off of the kitchen that gets afternoon sun. There is free 24-hour street parking nearby. It would be hard to fit 2 large vehicles in the driveway, but 1 can fit easily or 2 small vehicles can fit with careful parking. The long open stretch of wood floors make it a great space for yoga. There are yoga mats there waiting for you. There’s a high-end robot vacuum to clean the floors, a large fridge, and a dishwasher. The whole place is yours, including the 2 car driveway and 2 outdoor patios. Washer and dryer are right in the basement. The house comes fully furnished. The 1st bedroom has a full size bed and desk, 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, and closet. 3rd bedroom has its own electric baseboard heat and has a queen size bed, desk, armoire and wall-mounted workout equipment (tested up to 150 pounds). All three bedrooms have room darkening shades. Even though the house is super close to downtown, the house feels so private that we leave most of the window shades open so we can enjoy seeing the trees all around. Kitchen is fully equipped for people who love to cook. Large gas stove is nestled in a granite island overlooking the 2 living rooms. Dining area opens to the kitchen. Toys for children 1-8 years old are available upon request. The house is a 9 minute walk from the playground at South Hill Elementary School and the South Hill Recreation Trail. The house can easily be set up for kids to enjoy as well as adults. Renter is responsible for snow removal. There are snow shovels already in the house.

"They would like the dog park mostly the skateboard park and the only thing they wouldn’t like is some landlords expect dog deposits and some don’t allow dogs, whether working dog or not."

  • Lj279
"It is hard to live here and depend on public transportation. You must have a car for groceries and emergencies. There is no biking path or good side walks. "
  • Mnichols

"Views, street lights and nature trail. Traffic can get a bit fast, but the road is safe. New bike paths across the bridge are interesting "
  • Paul
"It is a very easy commute to downtown. Slightly more to the colleges. I consider commutes under 15 minutes to be easy though. I know Ithacans complain about traffic at the “octopus”, but that’s only because most of them have never seen traffic."
  • David W.
"Amazing location! I walk 10 blocks to work. Gimme Coffee is on the way. Historic Northside Triangle is the place to be!"
  • Dani932
"The apartments aren't upgraded for the amount you pay on a one-bedroom. The area is quiet and l haven't had any issues living here."
  • Ronald B.
"Semi-rural atmosphere. Lots of walking paths and hiking trails in the area. Our area of Dryden is in the Ithaca School District, whisky is very good."
  • Trulia User
"Beautiful, nice view. The community is looking forward to sidewalks that will help the area become more navigating. The community is nice but not as inviting as some may like."
  • Latoya Peterson
"Landlords don’t except Section 8 assistants. Good luck getting your security deposit back!?! Slum lords own most property here unfortunately."
  • Trulia User
"Access to public transportation a plus. They need to work on installing shoulders on west king road. Commuting is easy"
  • Paul
"I've lived in the area for 13 years. I've lived in Northeast Ithaca specifically for 5 years. Northeast Ithaca is very competitive as far as buying a home. The people are great and Northeast Elementary including the Ithaca City School District is beyond amazing. Northeast Ithaca is close to Cornell University. There are many reasons why homes in in Northeast Ithaca are in high demand."
  • Littlespoon1970
"I have lived here for three years and I feel safe in this neighborhood. People are friendly and it’s in walking distance to the commons and my work at Ithaca High School."
