8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have recently moved here from FL and my son loves this school. They do a lot of sports after school and the curriculum is just the right amount of rigor. He does not get hours of homework a night just maybe an assignment a night. This school has made my son much more confident in school. Thanks cross!!!Parent Review4mo ago20 Reviews - Winifred Harelson Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHarelson is a fantastic school choice, with just the right mix of oversight, rigor, extra-curricular activities, and absolute love for the kids as a whole. In my experience, my daughter had fantastic teachers the entire time she was there and was more than prepared to transition to middle school. Its really nice that the middle school is right next door, so as the kids grow they have opportunity to interact (at times) with the other campus and mentor students to see their progression. Harelson is great at encouraging character growth, kindness, and responsibility through positive reinforcement. However, they are well equipped to handle issues as they arise and they do a great job. The principal is very professional, highly involved, and easy to talk to, as he should be. He has a great rapport with the teachers and students.Parent Review4y ago88 Reviews - Canyon Del Oro High School

"I work by the university and there is no freeway so it takes about 35 minutes to get to midtown. Tucson is only about 12 minutes and downtown about 30 all because of surface streets with lights that can really slow you down. "

"My particular neighborhood in Oro Valley is not kid friendly because it’s mostly retirees. There aren’t sidewalks and riding bikes in la reserve us kind of tough for a kid because of the hills. Much better areas of Oro Valley for families. "
