  • Hpgdk8tm6k
"This is a safe and kid friendly neighborhood. You’ll regularly see groups of kids riding bikes (hopefully with helmets) or playing in their yards. "
  • Jaquay J.
"Nothing honestly I love this neighborhood. It’s really good and safe. The community is good, some people are good too "
  • Geraldine W.
"I've lived in this neighborhood over 5 yrs. Love the friendliness of neighbors. Lots of local shops, banks, restaurants, libraries. Just a nice quiet community."
  • Nicole J.
"I was raised here but am moving away in the next month. Great community. Great for families. Nice school system too. "
  • Nicole J.
"I was born and raised here. This community is amazing. Lots of businesses moving in. It can only get better. "
  • Halle R. M.
"Access to 3 buses downtown! the 16 runs all the time pretty much. the 14 doesn’t technically go all the way downtown but goes to the Allegheny T station. The 19L runs during high times of the day "
  • Dpeluso64
"close to other neighborhoods. local pool new brewery soon to open farmers market weekly and lots of good restaurants "
  • Leojmainvillejr
"There are pick up bags posted every block. Also waste receptacles. Many folks need to learn how to use them."
  • Patty H.
"There are lots of streets to walk your dog and most houses around the area have some sort of yard to let them out. Most neighbors have dogs and it’s nice to see other dog owners out walking with their dogs!"
  • Kaye p.
"Avalon is a really nice area however, the people who don’t live in houses are every bit undesirable u can imagine. People who live in houses have more respect for those around them. "
  • Nik T.
"Nice neighbors. Location is key. Decent price for housing. Feel pretty safe. Pretty quiet streets. "
  • jbrickner
"Great place to raise a family. Pretty low key area, not much night life in Avalon so it's pretty quiet. The neighboring community Bellevue has a little more night life to offer. (Mostly restaurants) A lot of hills, so walkability is a little rough, although this is Pittsburgh what do you expect? 15 minutes from downtown and about 10 minutes to the new casino and stadium area on the North Shore."
