6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHHS provided my children with a great education, a wonderful environment, and have faculty and staff who love students. Now my grandchildren are receiving that same great experience Hicks High School is known for. The moment you step on campus you feel the positivity and love. Students are motivated to do their best not only in the classroom, but on the stage in musical performances, on the field and on the court. HHS leads Class B schools in percentage of HS graduates also graduating with an associate degree. This school is a wonderful place for students to attend.Parent Review11mo ago3 Reviews - Hornbeck High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSteer clear if your child has an IEP/504. A 3rd grade teacher told me he prioritizes students without IEPs and the administration seems to think it is fine. We have been fight them for 2 months after finding out they "accidentally" removed my daughter from general education and acted like I should understand the mistake. My daughter is massively behind now that she was in pulled into full time special education for the first half of the year. Now she is back in general education, but struggling very badly, and they refuse to do anything to try and fix their "mistake". It has been nothing put heartache and I have watched the joy of school drain from my daughter, and i don't know if anything will ever be able to fix that. If you are military good luck, they make it very clear they only want something to do with us for the money.Parent Review2y ago7 Reviews - Rosepine High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMany students feel that teachers often fail to truly teach or engage with the material. Instead of offering explanations, interactive lessons, or meaningful guidance, some instructors rely too heavily on worksheets, outdated notes, or simply assigning pages from the textbook. This leaves students struggling to learn on their own without the support or clarity they need. Rather than creating an environment that encourages understanding and growth, the lack of direct instruction can make it seem like teachers are more focused on getting through the day than actually ensuring their students succeed. I do not recommend Rosepine High School if you want a genuine academic grounding.Other Review7mo ago7 Reviews - Simpson High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is okay at best, it’s sad that it’s considered one the best in the parish. A whole lot of worksheets education with barely to none hands- on education. They don’t offer any extra curricular activities for the kids. They don’t offer music or art. The kids get burn out quickly at this school. The PTO acts like they’re a exclusive club of mean girls, They have been there for years and are not welcoming to new parents who want to be part of the PTO. I could go on and on. Definitely not impressed with this school and glad we are done with it!Parent Review4y ago6 Reviews - Anacoco Elementary School

"There’s nothing for our kids to do outside of Church activities, if your child goes to Church. All others are on their own here in Leesville with nothing to do except to get in trouble."

"There are a lot of dog owners in the neighborhood and they seem to clean up after themselves. Rules are you must keep them on a leash. Pet friendly. "

"It’s small and the people here are pretty friendly. Good people and it’s fairly close to everything fun and exciting but still has the quiet homey feel to it. Not too crowded "

"Not kept up typically, sidewalks need tending to because they are basically washed away, the roads have massive pot holes and property is sky high because people think only military live here. Some of these house you can’t even live in and they are marked at 40,000. "

"I just moved here, so far I see some random drunk/maybe drugged people walking around but pretty harmless, we had a kid come ask if we needed our lawn mowed and he did a great job though"

"You have to drive everywhere, and the only way to find something to do, is to travel at least an hour for a mall. To find family things, it’s 2.5-4h drive. "

"You must have your own transportation available. This is a rural area. No public transit available except for a taxi."

"I have lived in this community for almost 2 years. Over here in Sycamore Point my neighbors come and go due to PCSing and even moving on base but it stays consistent. I haven’t had any complaints about my neighbors and vise versa. They have a lawn crew who comes about every 2 weeks or so and does and excellent job. Just move your plants and other items if you are someone who loves to garden because they sometimes get very close to the flowers. Other than that the kids play at the pool and parks and overall we have friendly neighbors."

"They would love that my neighborhood is pet friendly and other dogs around. They might not like that we do not have dog parks but on base they do. Also, they may or may not like the $300."

"This is one of the nicest little neighborhoods just outside Polk. It's quiet, mostly retired military and active duty, five minutes from either gate going into post. "
