Description

Welcome to 211 Ascot Pl NE - a fully reimagined Edgewood rowhome where designer finishes meet everyday livability on one of Northeast DC's quietest one-way residential streets.

The Home
Taken down to the studs and rebuilt in 2018, this 3-bedroom, 3.5 bath residence delivers the open layout, light, and finish quality of new construction with the character and scale of a classic DC rowhouse. Rooftop solar panels meaningfully reduce monthly electric bills.

Main level features a sun-filled open floor plan anchored by a gourmet kitchen with Calacatta marble countertops, custom cabinetry, and a full suite of luxury stainless steel appliances. Wide-plank 7.5" white oak hardwoods flow throughout the main and upper levels.

Lower level is a true full-basement in-law suite with private living space, kitchenette, full bath and separate rear access - ideal for extended family, a live-in caregiver, or a dedicated home office floor.

Outdoor living includes a back deck off the main level and a fully fenced rear patio - perfect for morning coffee, evening grilling, or raised bed gardening.

The Location
Set on a quiet tree-lined block at the Edgewood/Eckington border, the home is a 10 minute walk to the Rhode Island Metro Station - putting Union Station, Capitol Hill, downtown, and Silver Spring within a quick ride. The house is also a 5 minute walk to Alamo Drafthouse and Bryant Street Market, with the Metropolitan Branch Trail steps away for biking or running into NoMa or up to Brookland.

Utilities: Tenant responsible for all utilities (gas, electric, water, internet/cable). Solar panels reduce the electric bill.

No smoking. Small pets may be allowed.

All applicants aged 18 and older must submit a complete rental application and a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Income: Verifiable gross monthly household income must be at least 3x the monthly rent. For applicants using housing assistance vouchers, the income requirement applies only to the tenant's individual portion of the rent.

Credit & History: A comprehensive credit, employment, and rental reference check will be conducted. Applications will not be denied solely based on credit score.

Background: In accordance with D.C. law, we do not consider eviction histories or landlord-tenant court actions older than 3 years, nor criminal convictions older than 7 years. Fair Housing: We enthusiastically welcome all lawful sources of income, including Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8).

  • dkdauphinais
"With Rhode Island Ave NE to the south and Catholic University to the north, Edgewood is a quiet family-oriented neighborhood of row houses and friendly neighbors. I've lived here for 9 years and have seen the natural changes of older, long-time residents giving way to a new generation of home owners. We still have a good mix of older folks with young families, single professionals and students. There's a lot of development happening around the Rhode Island Ave. Metro Station, Home Depot and Giant. Chancellor's Row just off 4th Street NE has new townhouses. There are still some rough edges, but the neighborhood is changing every day!"
  • wtersch
"I've lived in Edgewood for a year and half and am glad I moved to the neighborhood. Folks take pride in the community and are friendly and welcoming. There is a very active Edgewood listserv (Yahoo group), plus an Edgewood Civic Association. The first Saturday of each month, I help with a neighborhood cleanup. Many other neighbors come out and help remove litter and keep the area looking nice, then we enjoy a friendly and free hot dog lunch. Proximity to the new Metropolitan Branch Trail for biking and running is a big plus; the trail leads to the Capitol, which is only 2.5 miles south of Edgewood. In terms of transport, the Rhode Island Station development at the Metro station is adding new businesses and residents to this Metro-friendly area, plus there are frequent buses along Rhode Island Avenue. I like living in Edgewood -- close to everything, yet, for now, relatively affordable -- and am definitely sticking around."
