After touring many schools across Wake County, we decided two years ago to relocate our family to Cary in order to attend DDE. Happy to report that the school does not disappoint! It is worth noting that we have 3 children at DDE, 2 with autism (one in a Gen Ed classroom and another in ECS). While every family’s experiences can differ - it does feel like between our three kids (who have very different developmental realities) we have experienced extremely consistent and positive experiences. We have been very happy with the IEP process and have felt encouraged both in and out of meetings. For both ECS and GenEd we have found teachers to be readily available and willing to work with parents. Questions are very quickly addressed and it has felt like a team working towards goals in all interactions we have had at school. In ECS we receive daily communication and our son has had opportunities to go into the GenEd classrooms for lessons as well as participate in larger school events (such as field days). In GenEd our teachers have been great at accommodating where necessary and encouraging healthy social interactions with peers. We are impressed with the academic side of school and equally happy with the other parts. The kids love the rotating specials (PE, media, music, art, stem, social emotional learning). They love the after school events (carnival, international night, stem night, socials). There are opportunities for families to get involved, which is a great way to make a big school feel like a much smaller, tight knit community. Our kids are thriving which is a testament to the teachers, staff, and parents who work tirelessly to ensure every day is an awesome day. Overall we cannot recommend DDE enough! Thanks to all the teachers and staff for making such an important and impactful time so great for our family!

It is outstanding middle school . It is not about the school only, but the student diversity and learning patterns with engaged curiosity that inspires the leader, for all these this school is outstanding with years of proven track records. I am very lucky that my both kids are able to study here.

I am amazed with this High School. All positives and praises for it. it is Highly competitive, demanding and very focused school that brings best of the students. It is not good for those who are scared of competitions and challenges - they may find it tough to sustain themselves. Most of kids very high scorers in SAT and ACT. Proven track records of this gives very confidence like studying at Harvard or MIT.
