4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagewell, i am a student here, but im changing schools next year so here I go. from my experience i can confidently say that there are not good teachers or students, not all of them are bad. this school does have bullying, racism, violence, and open favoritism to “smarter” kids, for example some teachers and staff will be “nicer” to kids who have better grades. for a long time i believed I did not deserve kindness purely because my grades weren’t perfect, teachers often isolated me and told people they shouldn’t be friends with me because I will “drag them down into my pit.” which hurts me, and then.. I met the good people in kenmore west, I know I can’t name names but I wish I could because these people truly deserve recognition for their kindness, they supported me, reminded me I’m smart in other ways, and just were genuinely kind. one time, I mentioned I was hungry to one of my friends and the lunch period had already passed, then a boy came up to me and gave me a snack and he said “I don’t like to see people hungry.” and then he proceeded to look through his lunch box and ask me if I’d like a drink, that really warmed my heart knowing there is good in this school, a lot of people have changed my perspective in ways I never thought I’d be thinking, and that’s amazing for a school, but the endless racism, bullying, and violence is truly concerning.. so, I would not recommend this school, it’s a very diverse school and yet a lot of students are actually switching schools because of said bullying and racism and violence, so if your thinking of sending your kid here or going here yourself, save yourself the hassle and pick a different schoolStudent Review1mo ago7 Reviews - Herbert Hoover Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible. I had to leave due to the lack of support I had frim anyone. Staff does nothing to stop the bullying. Kids with 504 and even IEPs are still not getting the right education, they disregard everything. This school worries so much about how they look but why don’t care about their students. please if you have other options, choose those.Student Review1y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near 21 Winterhall.

"I'm not from Kenmore originally but have live here for 24 years and consider it home. My neighbors are lovely and I feel very safe here. I'm looking for a new apartment and really hope to stay in Kenmore, as I can't imagine leaving my "hometown." "

"Many families in this neighborhood both new families and older families. Grew up here and is overall a safe and quaint area to grow up in. Very close to all major roadways to get to the city but still has the small town feel"

"Our young family enjoys walking up to Delaware Ave. We go to dinner and get artisan pizza. The « boys » use the local barber. We take the baby frequently for books at the library. When folks come to visit we will walk up to Spot coffee for breakfast and eat outside."
