"Urban Cabin" Amazing 1 Bdrm Apt on the Gorge on Giles St (Gorge Apt) This adorable apartment has been wildly successful as the Urban Cabin on AirBnb (700+ five star reviews). Search for "Urban Cabin Ithaca AirBnb" and you will see it. Long term guests have called it the best place to stay in Ithaca. It's right on the gorge overlooking Six Mile Creek, and it's 20+ minute walk to Cornell. Rent includes heat, electricity and wifi. Lease Terms: Lease starts September 1, 2025, until August 26, 2026 with a possibility of moving in early. 12 month lease. Security deposit, first month's rent, and recycling fee are due upon lease signing. This house has one of the best backyards in Ithaca. The view of the gorge, trees and Six Mile Creek is spectacular. It is a space for quiet people. It is not a party house, and quiet hours are 10pm-10am. Enjoy views of the gorge from the bedroom and kitchen/living roomThe back porch (complete with outdoor furniture) overlooking the gorge is all yoursMany windows open to the gorgeQueen size bed can go in the sunroom or in the main room. The renter is responsible for removing their own trash (city picks up weekly with trash tags) and recycling (city picks up every other week). Beautiful natural area and (unofficial) swimming hole are right behind the house, so you can walk there in a couple minutes. The stunning waterfall at First Dam, walk through the forest in Mullholland Wildflower Preserve and the flat South Hill Recreation Trail are each a 10 minute walk away. Small class sizes (my sons K class had only 12 kids!) mean lots of teacher-student interaction. Teachers engage the kids with interesting projects and they use the outdoor nature campus for many learning opportunities. The principal was great too. Classes are small, teachers are committed, there is a great number of aides supporting teachers, and there is good social-emotional support. We have experience some minor level of bullying that has been addressed strongly and assertively by leadership, including direct involvement of the Principal who is very approachable and involved in all school matters.
