This adorable Century Home is located just a few houses away from the Washington Irving monument, marking the noted writer's visit to the area in 1832 while surveying land for Andrew Jackson. He was said to have stopped on this very hilltop to enjoy a panoramic view of the Arkansas River while he watched Osage hunters crossing the river to a buffalo range. This Craftsman Bungalow located in the historic Owen Park neighborhood has undergone a full restoration and is now ready for new caretakers. Restored with careful thought and updated to include PTAC energy-efficient heating and cooling units as well as a fully updated kitchen and bathroom this home has it all. Cozy quarters lead to great efficiency in the plan for this home to provide a comfortable flow and setting. A pullman style bathroom gives instant access to two bedrooms as well as guests. The huge fully privacy fenced backyard leaves tons of room for a garage, a garden, a pool or whatever your heart desires. Don't miss this show-stopping Owen Park historic charmer. NEW PRICE POINT. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to this for one year, one year only. I hated it so much that I wanted to write a book to vent about it. If I could I would rate this school a zero. You know why? Not many will hear this in a review, but the school had the streaming of obscenity that teachers seemed not to notice. As you will see in other reviews it talk about cherry picking - picking high grade students- what they don't tell you is they don't pick their students very well. For teachers and all people that don't know about carver and people in carver, the kids at carver and teachers cussed, talked about porn, teachers not being aware, distractions like crazy; students distracting me and other students in class, bully a lot, discrimination; students using racial slurs, teachers that don't really like their job; which I would prefer them to for other students that are still there, it put me under tremendous stress; the students would call me buck head and nerd, and etc... I can't say anymore , there is much more, than that because I'm running, but I'm running out of characters. All I have to say is don't go to this school if you want to be bullied and desensitized to violence a crude stuff.Other Review10y ago - Will Rogers High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from Thoreau after it reopened in 1999. While middle school can be socially challenging anywhere, my experience at the school was academically and psychological traumatic. Teachers did not teach foundational academic concepts in many cases. For example, when I attended, we were not taught basic middle school math curriculum. Since math builds upon itself, not learning the basics put me severely behind in high school. Class sizes were very large, even with a para teacher in the class, and there was too much emphasis on group projects versus individual accountability. There were a lot of thug type students / gangbangers in training there since the admissions are not based on academic merit, it’s just a lottery from various parts of town with no credentials. Lord of very mean kids that would bully others.I’ve heard it has declined even more and sadly, was at its best early on when I attended. Thankfully, I left TPS for private school, but would have had a happier experience going to one of the many excellent private schools. Pls look carefully prior to sending your child here if you have other options!Other Review7mo ago - Henry Zarrow International School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average6th year as a Zarrow Aguila! Bitter sweet to see my Aguila fly off to middle school. She has had a time of her life and 5th grade graduation ceremony is ready to send her off as a well rounded, prepared young lady. Diversity around her makes her proud of the uniqueness she has to offer. Loved every day of class and every single teacher and staff, current and past, that school had offered. Always willing to help child and never losing child's best interest. PTA! Wow! Hats off as well. PARENTS AND TEACHERS, true meaning of working hand in hand! "This area was Tulsa's first subdivision. Originally it featured trolley cars to downtown. Many of Tulsa's prominent people lived here first. The area has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity since 2005 with the new nightlife and accomodations in the Brady District of downtown Tulsa. Nearby is historic Owen Park that contains Tulsa's oldest home on display. The neighborhood is on the National List of Historic Neighborhoods. Many new young people, both single and married with children are moving into the area. It is one of the most desirable and closest neighborhoods to the exciting Brady District area of downtown....the happening place to be."
