The teachers and staff were awesome. The school spirit is high and we enjoyed many activities the kids were part of.Parent Review2mo ago7 Reviews - Lakeview Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade all went well. 3rd grade has been a nightmare. The curriculum has gotten more difficult, as expected, and our child has been diagnosed with ADHD - inattentive type. The teacher in this great is woefully ill-equipped for any type of neurodivergent minds. The diagnosis was provided and a 504 plan in place. The teacher still uses words like "negative attitude in regards to getting out of his seat" and "takes advantage of the system," to the child. A child that cannot help his diagnosis is being chastised for it. When asked to be given more frequent updates rather than "it's been happening for weeks," communication was shut down, angrily by the teacher stating we should know how she communications. a handful of emails and a 15 minute parent teacher conference means we have no idea how she communicates. When asked to confirm the verbiage used, we were told "i will not sit here and be accused." All the while, he is academically average or above with compliments all over his work. The latest is a recommendation for a summer program to prevent him from falling behind. It covers several topics. We are unaware of which topics it's believed he needs and the criteria to qualify for such a program.Aside from this individual "educator's" communication style, there are reports of children talking about violence and one even drawing a Nazi soldier with a swastika, all ignored by the teacher. However, kids are routinely allowed to text from smartwatches which is strictly prohibited by the district. Perhaps it's this one teacher that has no business caring for children or perhaps we were lucky until now and this is what we're in for going forward. If this experience continues, we would seriously consider alternative education options to be clear of these difficulties and treatments.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Valleyview Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended Valleyview Middle School, and unfortunately, he experienced persistent bullying from other students due to his weight and race. We reported these incidents to the school, but the response from the administration specifically the principal, Seth Korman was dismissive. When I spoke with the principal about addressing the bullying, I was told, “this is a different time, a different place,” which minimized the seriousness of the situation.Despite my efforts to file official bullying reports, my son shut down emotionally. He still carries emotional scars from his time at this school, which we continue to address. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this school to other parents.Parent Review2mo ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near 2 Small Brook Cir.

"Fantastically family friendly neighborhood to raise children in. Truly couldn’t ask for a nicer location or nicer neighbors. I know that I could at any time ask any number of them to help me move something, to borrow something etc and they would instantly without question be ready & willing to help out in any way they can. Truly a wonderful very well taken care of neighborhood. "

"I truly cannot imagine a better neighborhood or town to raise my son in. My neighbors were instantly friendly and welcomed us with open arms! Anytime you need anything through multiple people, neighbors willing to help out in anyway they can. Really is a fantastic community to live in. Beacon Hill is, to me, the place to live and Denville."

"It’s an extremely safe, family friendly, wonderful, clean, well looked after, and quiet neighborhood. We walk with our son at any time day or night and feel beyond safe. People are so friendly and it’s the kind of neighborhood where you could ask your neighbors for something and they wouldn’t even think twice to help you out in any way. We have the train station right down the street for anyone who commutes to work and Beacon Hill is only a few short minutes away from downtown Denville, the Shoppes at Union Hill, so many choice of places to eat, and anything else you could need. I love this neighborhood. "

"It’s New Jersey...commuting is tolerable, at best. Denville has direct access to several highways and main roads, so is convenient to nearly any destination, but the actual drive there is very dependent on the time of day and day of week. There are backroads to anywhere in Morris County, and parts of Passaic County, so highways are easily avoided."

"Its a great town. Needs updated dining choices but we still love it! We live in the lake community which is excellent for bringing up children. The children still ride bikes and go fishing and play in the streets. "
