"Neighbors are long time residents and look out for the block. They literally pick my weeds on my sidewalk and pull my garbage out if I forget on garbage day."

"Safe, sunny little neighborhood with views of the Bay. Mostly single-family homes with garages and backyards. A short walk to the nearest shops on San Bruno or Third Street."

"It’s good but gentrification and Airbnb rentals are taking away from the appeal of this community. It’s a good place to live but definitely changing a lot and not all for the better unfortunately."

"The T line is slow to downtown, but they have changed to double cars, so hoping at least it's not as crowded "

"The streets are quiet and while you can’t easily walk to a commercial retail street, some of the best eating shopping districts in SF are a 5 minute drive away - Bernal, Mission, Dogpatch, Portola, and increasingly more, Bayview."

"There are a few bus routes nearby that may or may not go where you want to go, so expect to transfer. The T-Line is great for going to the dogpatch neighborhood or SoMa, but to get any farther than that may take upwards of an hour. Most of the time we just drive."

"Cars drive too fast on narrow streets, and many people block the sidewalks with their parked cars, so it’s not safe to walk with a stroller or small kids."

"Close to both major freeways for easy access to downtown, East Bay, or the Peninsula. However, somewhat removed from the heart of the city."

"I'm a dog owner, and I love it. So many families own a pet, and it's nice. In fact, I've met great people from walking my baby. Silver Terrace is definitely a great neighborhood to own a pet."

"I'm a native San Franciscan who moved to the Silver Terrace area at the age of five. Growing up in my neighborhood was quite fun and exciting, with limited crime. All my life, Silver Terrace was called 'Bayview,' but I guess with all the gentrification that's happening a name changed occurred. Although there are changes happening, it's exciting to see a more diverse group of families around me. There's a great playground where many families go and enjoy time with their children. Many years ago, this was unheard of in my area."

"The commute is smooth, with limited congestion. Bayshore Boulevard is a very busy street that has the most traffic during the workweek. Overall, everything is smooth sailing. Silver Terrace also has easily accessible public transportation for those who don't care to drive."

"It's safe for walking dogs, but owners must clean up behind them. Pets are welcome in this community as long as they are cared for and not straying all over other people's property."

"At neighborhood block parties, everyone comes together with the kids to barbecue, set up games, and plan other events for the betterment of the community. We also have a monthly meeting with the local police department to get information that will enhance our lives and keep us aware of issues."
