Description

Welcome to our South Berkeley oasis close to Berkeley Bowl, Sports Basement, and the local high school. We love our home but have a 1-2 year assignment overseas. We're looking for a family to love our home as much as we do while we're away.

The first floor of our space is a giant great room with kitchen, dining, living, and play area (or additional common space). There is also a 3rd full bathroom, pantry, and foyer. The living area opens up into a sweet though compact backyard space with lush native plants and a cement patio.

Head up the stairs and the first thing you'll see is an office space landing we'll be leaving a desk for you to use. Then there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one of them is ensuite), laundry closet. We have a king size bed, queen sized bed, and 2 twins, so let us know what bed arrangement you'd like and we'll arrange accordingly.

Our home is part of a site condo, which means you're entering into a community of friends who love to host dinners and grab drinks. Our neighbors are very sweet and respectful. One of them does own a very friendly dog, but the backyard spaces can be kept separate. We're not too far from Grove Park where many neighborhood dogs like to congregate in the afternoons and it's got a great brand new playground for kids.

We're in the South Berkeley school zone, and our kids attend Malcolm X which is a lovely school! If you need to take the bus to the central or north BUSD zones, I believe there are buses but you'll need to contact the BUSD system to look into that.

We're also 3 blocks away from Equinox which has been so convenient and I'm happy to refer you for a free week to try it out.

Note: Pics below are from staging when we bought our home, because we do need to tidy up all our kids' toys. But the general layout and furniture is very similar. AND could be unfurnished too.

12 - 24 month lease. Ideally, the first year is a 1 year lease, and then month to month after that.

No smoking inside or outside the house. This is a requirement by the condo association that the house is a part of.

No cats (we are severely allergic) but well behaved dogs are fine.

We can work out if its easiest to have you take over the utilities or just pay us for the utilities. It would include water, garbage, and electricity (note that we do have solar so that should offset the electricity costs).

If you choose to have the house furnished, we may require a deposit just for the furniture, especially if you have a pet.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Trulia. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources. This description is from April 24, 2025

From helping the elderly to supporting the youth it's one big fest of communities colliding together and having each other backs.
