2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot the best school. The teacher did not know how to control her classroom, one child was bullying kids in the class and all the teacher would do is take points from the child. I went to the teacher about Mt daughter getting bullied and was told she didn't know anything of it. I went to the assistant principal in person about the incidents that occurred with my daughter and this bully, nothing was done. It wasn't until I got strong with then and threatened to go to the department of education that the assistant principal talked to the child that was bullying my daughter. Meanwhile the teacher yelled at my daughter embarrassing her and made her cry under her desk with other students watching. My daughter got to the point where she told me she didn't want to talk to her teacher because she felt her teacher didn't pay attention to her complaints. I'm doing everything possible to remove my child from this school so that way she is out of there the following school year. Don't send your child here! If you want your child to get an education send then to a REAL school, this is just a out of control day Care with a school title.Parent Review7y ago - John F. Kennedy High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAlthough talk around the town gives Kennedy a not-so-outstanding reputation, after completing my 4 years at the school, it has become a second home to me. I don't have room to discuss the benefits if attending Kennedy. Just like any school, there are weaknesses that the principal and staff work to improve everyday. The AP/UConn courses, SOAR program, extra curricular activities, and other programs truly give students the ideal high school experience. Plus I could go on for paragraphs about the genuine, caring, and kind teachers and staff that work to better every student, no matter how difficult it may be. They will push their students to do things they didn't think we're possible. I never considered myself a leader until I was challenged to run certain clubs and groups my senior year. If your child is in the district or gets accepted into SOAR and you are worried about sending them there, don't be. They will find will they belong and the faculty will be there to help them along the way.Other Review10y ago - West Side Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student here at West Side and let me tell you, it was amazing. The teachers were all so helpful and caring, most of the teachers genuinely wanted to help you learn. The principal was welcoming every year, the security officers did a great job protecting the school, it was overall the best middle school experience in my opinion.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 18 Cynthia St #2.
