4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two kids with either an IEP or 504 and getting support for them is tough. If your kid isn't confident enough to speak up for themselves, they will get talked over and ignored (while still needing help). You and your child also have to be advocating for their accomodations or they don't get them. Events that would benefit from advance notice (band, choir, drama productions, dances, theme weeks) don't get communicated timely. This places a hardship on families who have to rearrange schedules last minute to attend/participate as well as a financial hardship for last minute purchases. The only redeeming quality of this school are some of the teachers go above and beyond in getting students engaged in what they're working on, letting the kids know they care about them as a person and that they're invested in their growth as a student (and as a person). (So often reviews on sites like this are left as a last resort for frustrated individuals, aka the squeaky wheel getting the grease.)Overwhelmingly, through my discussions with current families, parents are thrilled with our school’s offerings for our students. My experience with K-4 so far has been incredibly positive with clear communication, opportunities for feedback, and engaging learning opportunities.Is our school perfect? Certainly not, because I believe every school has its weaknesses, but it has been a wonderful learning environment for our family.
