4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLinn Mar use to be a school of choice with parents moving to the district so their children could attend one of the schools.. The last couple of years, families have been moving away, open enrolling their children in other districts, and homeschooling. The school board has attempted to implement policies that parents feel are not in the best interest of their children. The board is made up of people who are not leaders and who are disrespectful to other board members and to the parents. They have created a divisive environment. "Marion is a fairly safe town, grocery stores and small shops are within a short driving distance, lots of restaurants. Just keep a safe eye on your kids if you have any. While Marion seems like nice side of Cedar Rapids, I have seen in the news that other towns in Iowa and surrounding cities have experienced young women, college girls, teens, even kids gone missing. Always best to stay safe even in nice neighborhoods!"
